On Barbados' beautifully flowered and treed west coast,and located in Holetown, St.James, this lovely upper-level, one-bedroom condominium is beachside with beautiful views over the Caribbean,both by day and night. It has a fully equipped,custom fitted renovated kitchen,with gas stove and electronic ignition. A spacious living/diningroom area opens out to the comfortably furnished balcony overlooking the beach,offering 'magical' sunsets every evening provided by Mother Nature. The bedroom has a king-size or two twin beds, airconditioning, which is often not required,as the condominium complex is well situated in the path of the Tradewinds,which provide gentle breezes thoughout,so it's possible to leave the doors and windows open daily, as the condo has lockable wrought iron gates, front and back. The livingroom has convertible sofas which can also be used for sleeping two extra family members,as they make up into two single beds.There is a corner area with hi speed DSL 4G internet access and phone making communication simple. The dining area comfortably seats 5. The full bathroom has a separate vanity with granite counter top, dressing area with mirrors and hairdryer, plus ample storage space and security chest for safe keeping of documents,valuables Condo has its own hot watersystem so there is never a shortage of hot water,(plus water is drinkable right out of the tap, as Barbados has some of the best water in the world!) There are portable fans,celing fans, airconditioning, cable TVs,DVD,phones, highspeed DSL 4G internet access, microwave,coffee maker,blender,all linens dishes and glasses .

The tropical garden providing a luxuriant oasis for relaxation, has wifi plus it has a freshwater pool, freshwater shower and lounge chairs, umbrellas,and is beachside - the sea, just a few steps away. Sunbed mattresses are stored in the condo for extra comfort.The beach is safe for swimming, water sports,or an easy few minute stroll to a beach bar which has a steel band for happy hour on a Sunday, or shopping centre, from which buses run every few minutes into the city centre or to places of interest. All beaches are public. There are banks,car hire, taxis, and local inexpensive buses into Bridgetown, and 'tourist attractions' which are used by both visitors and local alike.

Holetown is 28 km from the airport, is home to many fashionable restaurants, and the upscale new Lime Grove mall. Dining and shopping are within easy walking distance, and many watersports are available on the beach at your doorstep. A piano bar, a nightclub, plus a new dine-in cinema! is close by for evening entrtainment. There are many different types of 'tourist attractions' such as Orchid World, the Flower Forest, Andromeda Gardens, a small rain forest, 'Welchman's Gully', a Wild Life Centre and many historic plantation homes open to the public, Plus the local parish church built in 1629 St. James' bell,, was cast by the same foundry that made the original Liberty Bell!. Harrison's Caves, provide a fascinating tour of illuminated underground caverns, and at the north of the island is the Animal flower Cave. Swimming with the endangered turtles is a very popular activity, as is scuba diving and snorkelling at Folkestone the marine park, a 10 minute walk away. There're also sea trips on the Jolly Roger, Atlantis submarine,and glass bottom boats. Other activities are horseback riding on the beach, fishing - deep sea,or off the beach.Tennis and golf are nearby. Popular spectator sports are horse racing, polo, surfing, cricket and a sport's bar shows TV matches

Dine at one of the 50 best restaurants in the world! - The Cliff -reservations are required. Plus the famous Sandy Lane Hotel, one of the most luxurious, and upmarket hotels worldwide, popular with the rich and famous, is just a 10 minute drive away. Holetown also has numerous bars and restaurants, ranging from fast food to bistros, and gourmet dining, and many restaurants also provide 'take out'.

Barbados offers an opportunity to experience a Caribbean lifestyle influenced by its traditional British history.The first settlers arrived in1627, and the island still retains its British Parliamentary system. It has a reliable infrastructure, and offers the comforts and safety of most Western countries.

Since the island is roughly triangular in shape, the 3 coasts offer a totally different ambience. The east coast bordered by the Atlantic ocean, is wild, rugged, beautiful, isolated, and unsuitable for swimming in most areas. The south coast, has heavy surf, and is more industrial, commerical, and has numerous fast food outlets, and local markets. The west coast, known internationally as the Platinum Coast,borders the blue Caribbean Sea, which is normally calm and suitable for all varieties of water sports.

As Barbados lies outside the hurricane belt, usual weather is blue sunny skies and white puffy clouds, normal showers being of short duration. Average daily high 30C. Sea temperature's a constant 80F.

About Dayle and George Rasmussen

We are a retired couple who have been spending our winters here for the past 26 years, we live the rest of the year in Canada. We love Barbados, the friendly people, the great climate, ('hurricanes hardly happen' - last one was more than 50 years ago) - the ease of living here. Everything we need is close by, including gourmet take out, home baked bread, croissants etc. Restaurants when ever we wish to eat out, - a life style without troubles!

Purchasing this condo was a 'love at first sight' property - fabulous panoramic view, easy walkable proximity to shops, restaurants, beach, on our doorstep, garden,pool- good security, good island infrastructure, and drinkable water out of the tap!! stable economy and reliable banking, friendly people, -a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity! We'd been staying in hotels on the island since 1975, and came to realize that there was no other place on earth which offered all that Barbados could provide. It seemed beyond crazy to ignore the once in a once in a lifetime opportunity that came along when we found our condo winter home. We realized that if we didn't purchase it there and then, we would regret it for the rest of our lives! So we've live there happily ever since and only return to Canada when the weather warms up!

Easy access (4 min. walk)to stores, bars, restuarants, banks, piano bar, etc.- NOT on the main road so NO constant traffic noise - Instant access to the beach - which is only 10 feet away, I walk 4 miles on the beach every morning! - garden with pool plus sun and shade with trees,flowers, umbrellas, garden furniture. - Safety. - Easy access (4 min. walk) bank, to bus into city, or taxis, or car hire. Supermarket will even deliver groceries.

Thank you for the welcome home. We had a great vacation and enjoyed the ease of having the beach access your home provides. The weather could have been better, but at the same time clouds kept the heat at bay some which was nice for a pregnant mom!

We did get to see wildlife, monkeys at Welchman’s Gully along with plenty of snorkeling. The mongooses were funny little things and we caught one doing a balancing act on the blue foot bucket trying to get a drink one morning.

We left 2 orange sand buckets and shovels under the stairs as it was one item our daughter desired and we thought you might want to keep on hand for any future visitors with kids.

We enjoyed your home and appreciate your follow up. Thanks again.

We recently stayed at this condo for my 65th birthday celebration. We have stayed in Barbados before, but condo # 1 at Palm Beach condos is very special. It is 10ft from the beach. Has a balcony overlooking the beach for spectacular susets and a view daily of all the water sports available. It sits off the main hwy and is very private and quiet and secluded. The open air combination dining/living room with multiple fans offers nice tropical breezes and the sound of the surf. They have a full kitchen with everything you would need to prepare meals. The bed room has a king size bed with (air Con) for cool, comfortable sleeping. The condo is immaculately cared for and over seen by Pat (whom is invaluable for all your questions about your stay). It is conveniently located with in walking distance to grocery store, tasty restaurants, bars and gift shopping. Walks along the beach are relaxing and there are many places to stop for drinks or food. The bus is nearby to take you any place around the island or renting a car was very easy with delivery to your door. There is a fresh water pool also for those that don't like the ocean or just want a quiet place to cool off. There is horseback riding on the beach available. We had a spectacular vacation at condo # 1 and whenever we return we will certainly be requesting to stay here.

Beautiful location, great hospitality

We just spend two weeks at this condo and loved it. It is a stunning location, literally right on the beach. The balcony overlooks the ocean, which is just steps away, and offers a magnificent view of the sunsets. The unit has everything you could ask for, and is very clean. The complex itself is small with only about 15 units, some of which belong to the hotel next door. The hotel has great entertainment, which you can enjoy from the deck at night. The garden pool is lovely and quiet,

The owners of this unit offer extraordinary service, courtesy of Pat, a full time resident in the complex. She arranges your pick up at the airport, and stocks the fridge for you before you arrive. That and the lovely cleaning lady Vita, make it like being at home. Vita made sure we had fresh flowers in the unit, and kept the unit very clean and stocked with clean towels.

The Unit is very close to many restaurants and grocery shopping, so no car necessary unless you want to tour the area. The area felt very safe, and we encountered no problems walking at night.

One point I would like to make is that actually - your comment that some of the units are owned by the hotel next door is incorrect - the units the hotel operates are leased from owners of those units - all the units are privately owned and the property is freehold, so the owners all own the condominium property themselves. Those owners use the hotel as a leasing agent and the condos are not rented by the hotel as condos, but just as hotel rooms, with the kitchens blocked off!!! - So inconvenient! -

West Coast Condo

Had yet another wonderful holiday in this beautiful apartment. The views from the balcony are second to none, it is particularly enjoyable early in the morning when everything is quiet but also in the evening watching the sunset.

The apartment overlooks the beach where there are many watersports available. It is also only a short walk from many and varied restaurants. There is a very good supermarket within easy walking distance. We also use the local transport (which is an experience not to be missed) to visit the fish market and to get all around the island.

The apartment itself is extremely well maintained and has a very good maid service. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely garden and swimming pool. We love the whole area but particularly this apartment and have been staying here for many years now.

Beautiful apartment on the beach at Holetown

We have been coming to this lovely apartment for many years, having stayed in others before. The apartment has been refurbished to a very high degree and has a new and very well equipped kitchen and also a beautiful balcony overlooking a lovely part of the beach.
It is in easy walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants and there is a large supermarket nearby. There are plenty of watersports and other activities available. The apartment is situated in a small block of condominiums by the beach and has a beautiful garden with a pool. There is also an excellent maid service and it is always immaculate.
We have been staying here for a very long time. We love it and thoroughly recommend it.
