Why Christina & Austin chose Sonoma

Why? The list could go on and on.

The location is absolutely unbeatable. We are near all the attractions and amenities Sonoma has to offer - world class wineries, luxury spas, golf courses, shopping, historic downtown, heart pumping hiking trails, casual trails through vineyards, delightful restaurants, museums and art galleries.

The home itself is a real treat. Our guests enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine in the serene garden. Our professional chef's kitchen is spacious and perfect for entertaining.

From location to the many amenities our home has to offer, our cottage is the perfect place to stay while in Sonoma wine country!

What makes this cottage unique

The moment we walked into this home, we knew this was the perfect wine country retreat. We love the quaint period arches of our 1950s cottage. The spacious garden, hummingbird & birdfeeders encourage us all to stay a bit longer in lavender and oak tree studded retreat. Most importantly, our home is located minutes away from a few of our favorite wineries - Little Family Winery, Chateau St Jean, BR Cohn, Ty Caton Vineyards and Muscardini Cellars.

Guestbook comments from the owner

With the warm weather in northern California we brought our bikes up to Sonoma for an active sunny winter weekend. The house is well located near many challenging, world class bike routes. During our time staying at the cottage we did two long bike rides - one through Sonoma and over the mountain range into Napa, and one going eastbound into and around Santa Rosa. Another day was spent hiking all around Jack London park, exploring and learning all about Jack London's life. With all that activity we felt that we earned our dinners at nearby Café la Haye and Hot Box Grill.

Wonderful stay in Wine Country - Thank you!

Austin and Christina's Sonoma home is truly a gem! My husband and I have stayed at many places in Sonoma before, but this one is one of our most memorable. From the moment we entered the home, we saw the high level of care and detail placed in each room. And that yard! Words can't do it justice! What an amazing space for dining and lounging by the firepit. We really enjoyed preparing dinner in the immaculate kitchen after a day out exploring town. The location is perfectly balanced with rustic Sonoma while being close to everything wine country has to offer. The only thing we regret is not being able to stay longer.

Amazing little gem!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful cottage for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It is absolutely amazing. The owners have thought of everything you could need or want. There are books and maps of all the places to visit and vineyards to try. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Stunning Sonoma retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Sonoma could not have been nicer! The accommodations were perfect for our family! The cottage was spotless and so well-appointed! We enjoyed grilling and relaxing in the backyard after our daily excursions to the wineries. We made it back to the east coast 24 hours before the earthquake, and we hope there was no damage to this little gem so we can return!!

Unbelievable Value in a Picture Perfect Setting

  • 5 of 5

Is it possible to give 10 stars?

My husband and I venture out to Sonoma on a yearly basis. After many years of staying in pricey B&Bs and hotels, we decided to rent a vacation rental through VRBO for the first time. Boy are we happy we did!

The owners were sweet and extremely accommodating. The direct interaction with them was a nice touch. But the best part is the VALUE this home offered. Our typical hotel bill is double the rate of this cottage for ONE NIGHT and only ONE ROOM during the summertime without resort fees, taxes, etc. This home is a great deal and you couldn't ask for more. It beats staying in a stuffy hotel room especially since you get your own private backyard & a full kitchen. We loved the location. It's not on the square, but that didn't matter since it's closer to the local wineries, which is the REAL reason why we visit Sonoma. Actually, we prefer to be a ways away from Sonoma Square due to all the tourists and traffic at the square. We're here to enjoy wine, the quiet countryside...not fight traffic. We took the local taxi company home several times after dinner which worked well. The home itself was darling. Kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed and MORE. The bedrooms were exquisitely decorated, very clean and relaxing. The backyard was a real treat. I love to garden, so it was nice to see another owner put a lot of thought into the design for outdoor entertaining. We told the owners that they should consider featuring their home in House Beautiful magazine!

Overall, the home is a winner for us. We are planning on booking our next trip out to Sonoma and would stay here in a heart beat.
