It is heated with oil baseboard heat and the winter provides ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing on the lake, ice skating and a variety of winter sports. The cottage is three-tenths of a mile from major restaurants, bars and entertainment. In the winter months you can walk on the frozen lake to most activities restaurants and pubs.
In the fall, spring and summer you might want to take the boat from your private dock and go to Nick's Lake House or Split Rock Lodge for cocktails and dinner. Perhaps you are into sports! Jack Frost Mountain skiing, splatter ball and motor cross is four miles while Big Boulder Ski area is three minutes.

Split Rock Lodge and Resorts are located at the end of the lake where you might want to take in a movie or play golf. It is indeed a championship course.
For the shoppers there is “The Crossings Outlet Stores” just 30 minutes away at Tannersville or you might want to travel 25 minutes down the mountain and visit the historic town of Jim Thorpe and its small artesian shops and galleries.
With all of the activities available so close, most of our guests still prefer to just relax on the 10 X 20 foot deck, the large horseshoe dock or sunbath on the small sandy beach along side the dock.
The lake is a natural spring fed lake formed by glaciers and is approximately 125 acres in size. Lake Harmony is a private lake and not open to the general public.
Motorboats are allowed for property owners and their guests. The lake association has a charge of 25.00 for one week and $50.00 for two weeks or more. The renter must complete an aplication verifiying ownership and proof of insurance to the lake association. Applications will be supplied to renters upon request.
The lake house was built in the 40’s as a summer cottage, but has undergone major interior and exterior renovations without changing the family type atmosphere. It is “small, but cozy” – Simple and clean.

We have been going to the lake for several years. This was our first year in this house. Fantastic week. The bathroom is a little small, but we didn't need a big bathroom so it didn't really matter. Besides they have an outdoor shower. The backyard in great. Plenty of room for fun and the dock was awesome. We never used the kitchen because we cooked out every day. The owners let me bring my 2 dogs which was great as they are an important part of our family. The house is perfect for a family my size (2 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs). I highly recommend it.
We arrived on Friday and not being natives of the poconos we weren't quite sure what to expect. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Although advertised as the cozy cottage there was more than enough room for my family of 5. Having 2 bedrooms was great we had a room and the kids had a room. The kitchen was spacious enough to cook and they had more than enough kitchen supplies. The bathroom was a bit tight but with the outside shower availability we had the kids shower out there most of the week. Being on the lake was great. The kids were able to be outside and in the water in 2 minutes and we could easily watch from either the balcony or dock. It was also very nice having both a kayak and a canoe although the canoe was a bit difficult to row. Having a backyard was also nice so there was plenty of space to toss a baseball around or even play some lawn darts. We enjoyed being able to get to wherever we we were going within 30 minutes as well. We fully intend to rent again next year if the owners will have us. I'll also add dealing with the owners prior to going was so easy and we were even able to meet them the day we were checking out and they were very friendly folks.
We enjoyed our stay very very much the only difference that we saw was the deck off the property is not the same as in the pic. and the rooms were a little bit smaller then we thought. But over all we enjoyed it very much and would like to stay again. It is differently for a couples get away. :)
Make no mistake, the Cozy Cottage is cozy, and the decor will remind you of the 70s. But the place was clean, and the view out the back is amazing. Our dog loved to run out the back and right into the water. We had a great weekend and would not hesitate to rent again.
Great Vacation! The home is clean and comfortable; owner very friendly. Beautiful views and the property is great for families...grass yard, large dock, and the sandy beach gives easy access to the water. Brought our kayaks and enjoyed the lake each morning; afternoons on the dock and beach (dogs loved the water); walking early each morning and evening in Lake Harmony Estates (across the road), amazed at the deer and turkeys. The local General Store personnel are very friendly and helpful; Nick's Lake House had good food; nice grocery store and laundromat within 10 miles. Outside shower is a plus. The deck is relaxing. Had an overall wonderful time and would visit again and recommend.
This was a very good place to spend a week in the Poconos. It was exactly as described and we planned accordingly. The owner is very active and was involved when needed. He even brought us a new gas grill on our last night, just hours after informing him there was an issue with the other grill.
The home is small but it works. Kitchen has most of what you need (bring a sharp chef knife and a non-stick skillet) if you plan to cook at home. Outdoor gas grill is great and there is a charcoal grill too if needed (bring your own charcoal).
Beds are full size, one with a mattress and box spring (a little soft for my liking but might be fine for others) and one with a mattress on a futon frame.
Bedrooms are small but you spend most of your time in the outdoor space and on the lake, so the room size was not an issue.
Bring your own beach towels, bath towels, and sheets. Blankets and pillows are provided.
Equipped with television with cable and dvd player. Do bring your own games and playing cards.
1. outdoor shower. We used this every day and didn't use indoor shower for most of the week.
2. beach and dock with your own yard. Most of the properties can't compare with the way this space is set up. You have your own lawn, your own dock (with 2-person kayak, row boat and canoe and can bring your own power boat, with permit), and your own small, sandy beach for kids to play. Outdoor space also had plenty of chairs and seating (we sat six for lunch one day with no issue). Also have your own deck with room for dining and reading.
3. location - right on the lake, minutes to just about anything you could need/want (stores, attractions, Jim Thorpe, state parks, etc.)
4. attentive and helpful property owner, who takes great pride in this property, which he and his family have owned for a number of years.
Cons - (these are minor cons) -
bathroom sink is very small (but you adjust); main bed (with mattress and box spring) is pretty soft; room for only 3-4 people max (couches do not fold out); kitchen is well equipped but the non-stick saute pans need to be replaced; air conditioning is centrally located in the dining area but doesn't cool down bedrooms well (not a major issue, most nights were cool).
Overall, very nice stay and would rent here again.
