Varna Vacation Rental : Albena

This villa is large and well supplied with everything you need (except soap for kitchen, bath and shower). There is lots to do if you want to stay right here, and, if you have a car, to go on outings to other sites. We had 2 families, 10 people total, our kids being aged 10-20. There was plenty to do and enjoy at the villa. The pool is small, but decent. The pool table, basketball, and little mini-golf gave them things to do. We relaxed in lounge chairs on the deck, reading and talking, and made dinner here a few nights, playing games or watching movies in the evening. Other nights we went to nearby Albena resort (10 min by car) for dinner and mini-golf or just wandering the souvenir booths and looking around.
If you are looking to be right in the middle of a busy vacation area with lots to do right outside your door, this villa may not be the place for you. You have to walk 20 minutes down the long hill to the beach (its a hard walk back up), or drive to the Albena resort. Varna is a half hour or so away by car, where we went to the dolphin show and visited the ruins of the Roman Baths (hard to find but worth it if you like that stuff like we do). After a day there, we were happy to get back out of busy Varna to our getaway villa again.
At first, I thought I might not like being in an isolated quiet place- I usually like the activity of a touristy area- but we all ended up very glad to have this private place. It's situated on top of a large hill and the view is beautiful. There are just locals around you, and probably some other rentals. We didn't see many people in June. There are a couple small shops you can walk to for bread and such, and a grocery store about 5 minutes away by car.
Overall, I'd highly recommend it for families, groups of friends or gatherings where you enjoy being away from the crowds, and like to go by car to dinner or activities but have your quiet place to come home to. There was enough here to enjoy just spending a whole day relaxing and then cooking dinner out on the patio. There are things to do close enough if you have a car. It was a clean and comfortable place as described, just more out of the way than some people want.
