Come immerse yourself in the tropical warmth of our 2nd floor condo at the uncrowded northern end of glorious 7 Mile Beach. Our condo is one of the relatively few units at Discovery Point Club whose screened veranda is open on one side as well as the front providing a panoramic view of the crystalline turquoise ocean, sandy beach, pool and hot tub.... all a minutes' walk away.
Inside, enjoy the tropical décor and fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and all new stainless steel appliances (not yet pictured). The living room and both bedrooms have flat screen HD TVs (with free HD satellite cable) and DVD players. Additional amenities include ipod docks, free WI-FI that reaches to the pool, free local phone with answering machine, washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, board games and DVDs, sand toys, hair dryers, tankless unlimited hot water, and new air conditioning with individual room control.
The unit may be rented with one or two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a bathroom with a walk in shower. The second bedroom has twin beds which can be converted to a king and a bathroom with bathtub and shower. The living room has a queen sofa bed. Towels (including beach towels) are provided and there is daily maid service, except Sunday and holidays.
Discovery Point Club received the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor and is their #2 specialty lodging on Seven Mile Beach. The office management is the best and will help with any questions/reservations. Free international phone and internet computer/printer are available in the office during business hours. Outside, snorkel right in front of the condo in the 80-86 degree ocean or at nearby Cemetary Reef, play tennis at one of the 2 on site courts or take a long beach walk/swim. There is a rinse station for scuba gear after enjoying the world class Grand Cayman dive sites.
The island offers a wide variety of water sports and unigue attractions. At the Stingray City sand bar you can stand on the soft sand in transparent shallow water and pet the friendly stingrays. If you are not a diver you can experience the amazing underwater world in the Atlantis submarine.
We recommend renting a car (quite reasonable here) since grocery shopping and great restaurants are close but not easy walking distance.

Everything was amazing! Discovery Point & our condo were perfect. The condo contained everything we needed - right down to beach toys for my 2 year old. The staff is top notch - super friendly & helpful! Annrose went above & beyond to help us out when I lost my wallet (which was recovered - special thank you to the folks at Lauren's Cafe)! The location couldn't have been more perfect - the beach is beautiful, the pool refreshing, the accommodations excellent. It was very relaxing and a perfect was to spend Mother's Day weekend. There are little huts on the beach to allow for shade (great for little ones). We will definitely stay longer next time!
Just returned from our first visit to Grand Cayman. Once again, TripAdvisor.com served us well in finding the perfect place to stay. Discovery Point is so relaxing! No cigarette smoke. No annoying music piped in to the pool area. Just peace and quiet and the sound of the waves.
Discovery Point is a short drive from the airport but far enough from the cruise ship crowds and noise of George Town. It's super convenient for many restaurants and activities. And unlike the hotels where you're PACKED like sardines on the beach, there's plenty of room to spread out at the beach/pool of Discovery Point, with a variety of beach chairs and tables. The management/maintenance folks are very responsive, and the units are all oceanfront with screened porches. The landscaping is quite lush, and they take great care with it.
Be mindful that this property has no elevators, so if you are disabled in some way, consider a unit on the first floor, where your screened porch opens right onto the beach. We enjoyed being on the second floor in this particular unit because it seemed a little more private. The kitchen had a dishwasher, electric range, fridge with ice-maker, garbage disposal, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot and blender. There was also a stackable Washer-Dryer in a hall closet, which means you don't have to pack so much.
The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows (and we are picky!) We had a king bed, and our daughter stayed in the second bedroom, which had two twin beds and its own bathroom. There were two AC units, one for the master bedroom/bath and another for the living area and kitchen. Each bedroom had its own TV, which my daughter loved.
This unit had plenty of towels, pillows, and cooking utensils/pots/pans/skillets, etc. There was a basket of toys for building sand castles on the beach. The water pressure in both showers was good and strong, and hot water was plentiful. And I was very surprised at how silent the condo became after the sliding glass door to the porch was closed completely. One of the great things about the property is the "quiet hour" from 10:00 pm - 8:00 am. Despite the development being full of families, you could have heard a pin drop outside after 10:00! Love it.
We rented a Jeep for the week from Andy's Rent a Car. I highly recommend having a vehicle so that you can take advantage of the full island. Don't forget to drive on the left side of the road, though!!! :-) "
This unit and this complex, Discovery Point Club, are an excellent site for a relaxing vacation by the sea. The unit is comfortable, modern, and well-cared for. The onsite management is professional, knowledgeable about local activities, and friendly. Any problems with the unit (e.g., cable TV going out) are promptly attended to. We have stayed at DPC twice and have had nothing but positive experiences here. The location is fabulously beautiful and tranquil. You will not be far from numerous outstanding restaurants here. A fully-stocked grocery store is a mile away. Overall outstanding!!!
The condo is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The beach in front of the condo was pristine and the snorkeling excellent! Will definitely stay there again!
We just got back from a week at Discovery Point for my boys' Spring Break week. It was incredible! Not only because we still had snow back home, but also because of the variety of things to do… from just plain relaxing and reading on the beach to snorkeling many times a day every day to frisbee and football on the beach, etc. We have 3 boys 10-17yrs. We couldn't have asked for a better location! There is a wonderful sandy beach with several spots to wade in as well as very nice snorkeling directly out from the north side of the condos. After the first day my 10 year old said, "Half of those fish I saw today, I didn't even know existed!" The queen angel was my favorite. My youngest son loved the flounder. My oldest loved the schools of Blue Tang that swam through in a fluid way like a flock of birds in motion. We also swam down to snorkel off of Cemetery Beach for even more wonderful snorkeling.
The staff at Discovery Point are extremely nice and helpful. One of my favorite things of the whole trip was when one of the grounds crew guys had a bag of coconuts and a machete. He cut the tops off and offered them to anyone who wanted a coconut, along with straws to sip on the beach. I love coconut! And how wonderful to have fresh coconut water on the beach!
We were able to cook many meals in our condo, but also enjoyed several of the Cayman restaurants. Loved the Heritage Kitchen, with fresh fish, just down the road as well as Calypso Grill for a more expensive meal for just my husband and I on our last night.
Also, took the boys on a 3 stop snorkeling guided trip to Sting Ray City, Coral Gardens and the Aquarium reefs. Those shallow reefs were amazing! Very much recommend it. Another day we drove in to Georgetown and snorkeled at the Wreck of the Cali and Cheeseburger Reef.
Discovery Point is in the best location on all of Cayman, in my opinion, far enough from the chaos of Georgetown but still close enough to really great snorkeling and restaurants. Totally, well worth it and we'd do it again in a heart beat!
My husband and I rented this condo on a recent dive trip to Grand Cayman with another couple and it was perfect. The area is very quiet. The condo was clean and well appointed. The staff was very sweet. The property is beautiful. The beach is perfect seven mile beach with no rocky entrance. The pool was gorgeous as well. Look no further. The view was amazing and the sunsets were awesome!
