For activites, you are just 2 1/2 miles from Sonoma Square where you'll enjoy wonderful restaurants, wine tasting, farmers market, shopping and shows. Within a short walking distance of the cottage are several neighborhood restaurants and eateries including Big 3 Diner owned and operated by the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. You can actually walk to the Fairmont for a spa treatment (4 minutes) from home. The Barking Dog Coffee Roasters is also just down the street. Highway 12 is close by and you can cruise up toward Santa Rosa and Kenwood and stop along the way at numerous wineries and tasting rooms. During this beautiful drive be prepared to take photos of the amazing sites and the wildlife you may chance to encounter.
If you are an early riser, take a moment to quietly sit in the yard and observe the family of deer that meanders up the road nibbling away on various brush and vegetation. A peaceful sight you are sure to remember.
The cottage was great! Beautifully decorated and very comfortable, especially after a long day of touring in wine country. :-) Sonoma is a lovely town with tons of great restaurants and wineries nearby. Also - Napa is just a short ride away.
What a fantastic property! Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was in a great location for our winery touring. We also visited the Armstrong Redwood state park and Bodega Bay, both an easy drive from Sonoma. We would like to come back and rent this property again and would definitely recommend this property. Bonne, the owner, was very easy to work with.
This cottage was absolutely adorable. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine from Sonoma and chocolates! The cottage comfortably sleeps four people. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and clean and the living room was spacious enough for our group to hang out and catch up. A short ride from the square and wineries and there is an amazing Mexican restaurant (with awesome coffee) within walking distance of the cottage. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again!
This little cottage is hidden away on a quiet, yet quaint street only a few minutes drive from Sonoma. It was a perfect place for two couples on an extended weekend. The whole house is beautifully and comfortably decorated and is very well kept (including clean). Everything looks new, but much attention to detail and looks and feels like a lot of care was taken in the renovation. The two bedrooms are perfect size for a couple. The sitting area, dining room and kitchen have a lot of room and again - well appointed. The kitchen has everything you need. We loved taking our morning coffee out on the little terrace off the side of the house - nestled in bunch of trees. We walked to some of the restaurants close and either cabbed or drove into Sonoma for dinner. We visited many wineries which are so close to the cottage. It's really a perfect location. Bonne was a wonderful hostess - keeping in close contact before, during (check-ins to ensure everything was going well), and after. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to one or two couples. It was excellent value for price paid.
There were four adults in our party, and all of us were completely satisfied with all aspects of Kit's cottage. We found it to be exceptionally clean, well stocked, very comfortable, and quiet. The owner, Bonnie, is very hands on, and an absolute gem with her recommendations for restaurants and other attractions in the area. The city has very good restaurants, and some are within walking distance of the cottage. We all agreed that we would definitely attempt to rent Kit's cottage on any return trips to the Sonoma area.
My friends and I rented this cottage for a girls weekend in Sonoma and had a wonderful time. It is situated in a quiet area a short drive from Sonoma Square and is very comfortable and welcoming.
Bonne is a helpful and responsive owner. I received my damage deposit back within 48 hours of our checkout date. We happened to be there when the earthquake happened and she called to make sure everyone was okay.
Overall it was a great weekend and would definitely stay here again.
