I can not think of anything that could have been done differently. We were thankful for the bottled water to get us started and then we found our favorite wine at the wine store.
My husband and I slept well. It was nice and quiet and we actually slept late Saturday which is unusual for us. Loved the bed and sheets!!
We also enjoyed being able to walk to places instead of always driving.
We will be back!!
Thank you for considering my home as you plan your trip to Dallas. I split my time between my Dallas home and my Chicago home, based on family and work commitments.
Location location location! After 26 years in down town Chicago, I knew I needed to find a place in Dallas that was vibrant the moment I walked out the door. And, while in the building, I greatly appreciate the safety and security that comes with a 24-hour doorman and secured building.
Enjoy the southern hospitality, the wonderful views and the neighborhood!
PLEASE NOTE: NO ENTERTAINMENT BROKERS, PLEASE. Welcome to the KNOX PARK neighborhood! It provides the ideal combination of the energy and activity of KNOX/Henderson and the lush greenery and beauty of Highland PARK. The Knox neighborhood is one of Dallas' most popular areas and one the city's oldest shopping spots. It is a long-established neighborhood that has pushed an influx of city-dwellers into its territory for the past ten years. Many of the buildings in the area have been renovated over the last few decades to bring a modern vibe to the area. Despite the renovations in Knox, buildings remain true to their 1920's historical Dallas roots. The area is located just North of downtown and is a short commute to the heart of the city. Locals who live in the area choose Knox because of its proximity to the city center, eclectic environment, lively bar and restaurant scene.
Fun night-life, great dining, and quirky shopping options make the Dallas area of Knox one of the most frequented in the city. Knox attracts people from all parts of Dallas, and because the neighborhood is a walk-able one, tourists and locals of the area ditch their cars and walk from venue to venue. The area is filled with antique galleries, unique furniture stores, gardening shops, and a variety of restaurants and night spots. The Knox-Henderson area is widely known for its selection of vintage stores. Places like Pandemonium Limited and Froggie's 5 & 10 sell items like vintage clothing, lunch boxes, retro-inspired costumes, and other quirky vintage items that would not be found in other parts of Dallas. There are various well-known stores on the two streets as well, such as the Apple Store, Starbucks, Jonathan Adler, Kate Spade, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, and Crate & Barrel.
Knox-Henderson is a restaurant-intense area of Dallas and many of the restaurants on the two streets always have an overflow of patrons. A popular place in the area for locals is called the Toulouse Cafe and Bar, located on the 3300 block of Knox. The cafe is modeled after a Parisian cafe decorated with marble-walnut tables and a warm ambiance. French and Belgian cuisine is served at the cafe. Toulouse Cafe and Bar has a variety of expensive dishes designed for the discerning palates in Knox-Henderson. On the Henderson side of the street sits Hector's on Henderson. It is a stylish restaurant that serves upscale comfort food in a cozy romantic setting. There is a piano in the restaurant where music lovers can find both dinner and entertainment in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood. Outdoor dining can be found in Knox-Henderson as well.
As noted on the Highland Park Village website, 'over the years, Highland Park, a separate town now located within the boundaries of the city of Dallas, has become one of the most beautiful communities in the nation, rivaling even Beverly Hills. Because of a good original master plan and strict deed restrictions, it is today an enclave of gracious homes, fine schools and beautiful parks.'
Also located within walking distance of this property is a destination hotspot for Dallas: Highland Park Village. Surrounding the central fountain, typical of Spanish plazas, are ten acres of brick paths and walkways, lush landscaping, benches and trees, and unique rows of buildings designed in a timeless Spanish Mediterranean architecture boasting arched doors and windows, imported red tile roofs, overhanging balconies, ornate tile work, embellishments, all finely crafted. You can even hear the birds sing in the trees throughout the Village.
The Village 'has evolved into a center full of high quality apparel that also caters to the everyday needs of the people.
Highland Park Village boasts several exclusive, luxury stores in the Texas market, including: Akris, Brunello Cucinelli, Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Fürstenberg, Escada, Harry Winston, Judith Ripka, Leggiadro, Loro Piana, Madison, Rag & Bone, Scoop NYC, Stella McCartney, Tom Ford, Trina Turk, Vince Anne Fontaine, Chanel, Hermes, Jimmy Choo, Lela Rose, Saint Laurent Paris, and St. John (clothing).
The Village also has a handful of dining options ranging from cafes and bistros to cheese and spirit shops.
