Poggio ai Pini is the ideal location for visiting the highlights of Tuscany and yet enjoying the vicinity of the most beautiful medieval town, Siena which is approx. 2km away. The farm buildings were carefully refurbished and converted into cosy and beautiful apartment that will enhance your stay in the picturesque Tuscan countryside. The owner, a Count, lives in the Villa dating back to the 17th Century and it has belonged and is still occupied by the same ancient noble Siennese family. The Villa and the farmhouse are surrounded by hectares of olive groves, woodlands and green fields, where you can see in a distance for miles across the Chianti region and the beautiful skyline of Siena. In fact, the property lies at the doorsteps of Siena, offering all shops and facilities reached both by bus and on foot. Access to the property is by an electric gate and by 1.5km of private gravel road that leads directly to the private parking area of the apartment.

LA LEGNAIA 2 Persons 50 SQM Kitchen - living/dining room with double bed- 1 bathroom This apartment occupies a small independent building that is separated from the main group of apartments by the courtyard in front of the Orciaia apartment. It has a private furnished terrace and garden space in front of it and is ideal for a romantic honeymoon. Private entrance is from the front terrace into the kitchen which is complete with gas range, small fitted electric oven and fridge. Through the kitchen is a small hall with doors to a large wardrobe, to the complete bathroom with shower stall and washingmachine, and to the delightful, spacious and luminous living/dining room with alcove where the double bed is located. The living room has a beautiful arched window on one side and a second archway with panoramic glass doors that open onto the private terrace.

The location of Poggio ai Pini is ideal for a relaxing holiday with the option of practising several activities available nearby: horse-riding,biking, ballooning, tennis, golfing or simply walking in the surrounding area or swimming in the large pool overlooking the Chianti hills. It appears to be a conversion of an original outbuilding (smokehouse?) and is in close proximity to five apartments which have been converted from the stable. The owner occupies the villa. It’s just north of Siena on road #408. We definitely needed a car but one of the other couples, a pair of hike-happy Brits, parked at the gate and walked into town each day. Okay, I’m a wimp. The gravel road off the highway is about .5 km to a covered parking area. It’s a 10-15 minute drive to parking at the Stadio and 5-10 minutes to the Coop. Other highways are easily accessed as long as you’re good at navigating the rotaries. The estate has evidently been in the same family since medieval times. La Legnaia is a separate, three room cottage with it’s own patio.

WHERE WE ARE: Poggio ai Pini Via Chiantigiana, 25 (entrance just next 25) 53100 Siena you enter the gate (just push the button on your left) and than follow the white way up the hill for 1,5 km to the parking place and the apartments at the gate, the owner has created a second parking area for guests in which they can park their cars and use the regular bus line, 3 and 8 in both directions, that runs from the gate directly into the center of Siena.

Golf: UGOLINO GOLF COURSE IS 65 KMS DISTANT AND IT IS IN FLORENCE.
