Essaouira is a small walled town on the Atlantic Oceon. It is a World Heritage site and part of Unesco. It has a delightful, working port where boats are still hand built and fresh fish comes in several times a day. There is an abundance of shops and good restaurants - Moroccan, French, Italian. The town is renowned for its' water sports, original art and the Gnaoua Music Festival in June. There are many other music festivals throughout the year. The people are very friendly and the town has a delightful 'laid back' feeling - especially good after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech! Thuya wood goods are a must to purchase as is argan oil - even more beneficial than virgin olive oil - and can be purchased for both cuisine and cosmetic use. In the countryside, the goats up the argan trees are a sight to behold. We also have a house 25 kms away if you would like to visit the countryside.
