This idyllic 18th Century French Manor House is set in its own 24-acre park bordered by the wooded banks of the river Armancon. It is the perfect place for a holiday in France with family and friends. The house is maintained to a high standard with a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. It sleeps 6-16+ in nine elegant bedrooms, six of which are en-suite. It has a heated swimming pool, grass tennis court, walled garden, avenue, barbecue, table tennis, private fishing and a rowing boat on the river which runs through the park. All our rental prices include the services of our wonderful cook for 5.5 days per week We also have a charming Gate House available for rental for smaller groups (sleeps 4+) or for larger groups renting the Main House. The Gate House is completely independent of the Main House and unless let with the Main House does not have access to the park or heated pool. All our rental prices include the services of our wonderful cook who takes care of all the shopping and menu planning and preparation of both lunch and dinner for 5.5 days per week. The maid service which is charged separately includes laying, preparation and clearing away and washing up at breakfast, things, laying out, clearing away and washing up at lunch and dinner and waitress service at dinner as well as preparation of the house and cleaning and optional bedmaking during your stay. The full service package which we offer at La Maison du Chateau ensures all guests have a real holiday.

This charming manor house and park nestles on the edge of the quiet village of Cry-sur-Armancon, with its beautiful church, bridge and tree lined river which borders the park. It really is a paradise for both adults and children. The whole region is renowned not only for its food and wine but also for its fascinating history with its beautiful chateaux, abbeys and fortified towns. From La Maison du Chateau you are within easy driving distance of the ancient towns of Auxerre, Avallon, Dijon, Noyers, Saulieu, Vezelay, and even Beaune and Autun. The Abbeys of Fontenay and Pontigny, the magnificent chateaux of Ancy-le-Franc, Epoisses and Tanlay, to mention a few. The Forges de Buffon, the wine town of Chablis, the spectacular fortified town of Semur-en-Auxois, and the charming hill top village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (where the film 'Chocolat' was made) are all within forty minutes. There are a surprising number of treasures hidden away in this wonderfully peaceful and unspoilt area.

  • Rental varies from £2400 per week in low season to £7000 per week in peak season for rental of the Main House for a group of 12. Additional per person supplement applies for 13-22 people. Gate House is available for groups of 17+.. There is a 1 week minimum stay during peak season. The services of our wonderful cook are included in the rental price.   • Depending on your requirements, there will be a further charge of approximately €55 per person per week for the maids.
