Family of four (2 young girls). Both my husand and I are in the health care industury. We live in Santa Cruz, CA
We go up to our house in Kings Beach with family and friends. We enjoy hiking, biking, water sports, ice skating, rock climbing, snow boarding, dirt biking, skiing and camping in our Westfalia.
We bought the house in 2004. As much as we love being up there, it is also a lot of work maintaining a vacation rental.
Danelle Manson purchased this house in 2004
We wanted something close enough to drive to, and with access to a recreation area where we can enjoy outdoor adventures.
We enjoy walking or riding bikes to the lake. In wintertime we snowshoe behind the house on the Brockway Summit/USFS land. Both our children have started to ski!!! They also love to ice skate at Northstar! We love to hike and trek the trails. Great views of Lake Tahoe! My husband enjoys mountain and dirt biking on the trails during the summer and rock climbing. Our extended family come and enjoy summer with us. Lots of lake time then!
Dave and I bought this place in Kings Beach last December. We have spent most of the winter personalizing the cabin to our style. Already we have made some wonderful memories there. We are excited to be sharing it with friends, family and guests. We welcome any comments and recommendations.
We had a girls weekend up at this cabin. The location was perfect, a short walk to the beach and all the great food and shopping Kings Beach has to offer. The cabin was big and cozy. It was well maintained and clean! Everyone in our party slept comfortably. The hot tub was perfect when the nights cooled off. Just remember to turn the temp up awhile before you get in so it's nice and warm!
The game room in the garage was great and the wagon we found in there to haul all our goodies to the beach was amazing!
I would rent this cabin again and I know a few of the girls who joined us on this trip will also be re-renting this place! It was lovely.
We loved our stay at this cabin. This was our first time at Tahoe in the summer, and Kings Beach was beautiful. The cabin was very homey and comfortable, the wrap around deckwas awesome, and we ended up spending much of our time hanging out there. It easily acomadated our large family of adults and children with beds to spare. It was like we were staying at a friends house for the weekend. The owners were very easy to work with, and we had no issues throught the whole process. We liked it so much that we are already planning next years trip back to the same place! I highly recommend this rental.
This house was perfect for our July 4th vacation group. 7 minute walk to Kings Beach and close to all the food and shopping locations. House was clean and comfortable and the owners provided plenty of extra bedding and towels. Kitchen, hot Tub, patio, and downstairs playroom were all great additions. Our group consisted of all young professionals (no children) and the house was exactly what we needed. I wouldn't hesitates to book again for our next King's beach adventure.
Owners were also very friendly and responsive through emai.
Myself and a group of friends wanted to rent a house to stay in for our friends wedding. This house was perfect, and it had everything we needed. The hot tub was nice and large and the beds were all very comfy. The guys in our group really enjoyed the fussball table as well as the arcade video game that were in the basement. There was more than enough sleeping room for our group (6 people-- 2 couples and 2 singles). The owners were also very easy to get ahold of and very prompt in all of their responses. There were also no issues in getting our deposit returned.
Great place especially if you have kids, ours loved the bunk beds. Great neighborhood. The owner was very nice and flexible with our travel dates. Hot tub was great too!!
This is my second stay at Kings Beach Chalet Retreat and I will be back again. There's so much to see and do around the lake...this is a great place to base out of for exploring the beauty around Tahoe.
The house is located on quiet street but within very close proximity to amenities at Kings Beach (the lake, restaurants, Safeway, etc.) and with easy access to skiing at Northstar and resorts on North and West Shores as well as Incline Village. There are plenty of beds for weekend get-aways with friends and a nice fireplace to cozy up around after long day on the slopes and a good soak in the hot tub. The place is very clean and well cared for. I'd recommend the cabin to my friends and family for group weekends, quiet weekends away and for families with kids!
Tahoe is a great outdoor mecca. Reno is just around the bend and Truckee a short drive. Great multi use trails on federal and state land are within walking distance. Nearby rivers for rafting or fishing. We have enjoyed ice skating at Northstar which is free if you own your own skates. Also great family values for ski/snowboarding at Diamond Peak, a short drive from our house. The Martis Lookout is up on Brockway Summit, an easy drive. Another great hike from the house is up to the fire look out above Incline Village. Beautiful views & fun for the kids.
A fun little miniature golf course is also a short walk from the house.
