Santa Teresa House Rental Photos and Description
3 Bedroom 3 bath, sleeps 9 with Ocean Views overlooking Playa Santa Teresa
Casa Mango is the ideal getaway for couples, friends, and families alike! The home is located in beautiful Santa Teresa, on the Southern Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica, named as “Best Beach in Central America” and by Forbes Magazine as one of the “World’s Top 10 Most Breathtaking Beaches”.
Casa Mango has been described by travelers as the “perfect blend of upscale and outdoor living”. The villa sits on the lower part of a hill towards the north end of Santa Teresa, offering both privacy and panoramic ocean views from every room. This newly built 2,200 sq ft villa is only a 150 meter (5 min.) walk to the beach in a more quiet section of town, yet still close to great restaurants/bars/supermarket. Just added a gorgeous infinity pool with ocean/jungle views for fall 2014.
The house features custom hand-crafted furniture and each bedroom boasts ocean views, private baths and luxury high thread count linens. There are three spacious bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs. One upstairs bedroom has a King size bed and the other has two Queens. The downstairs bedroom has one Queen and one Twin bed. The house has a covered outdoor dining area as well as a terrace and sun deck on the first floor, plus a covered terrace on the second floor complete with a wet bar.
Imagine waking up to the sound of the ocean and having your morning coffee (Costa Rican of course!) from any one of the terraces, while watching the capuchin monkeys pick mangos for their breakfast from the grove on the property. Spend the day enjoying Santa Teresa’s secluded white sand beaches, turquoise water, and wildlife. Santa Teresa is known for its world-class surf that breaks consistently year-round. Later, end a great day by watching the most incredible sunset right at the house; you may never want to leave once you've seen the 180degree sunset view from Casa Mango.
If you do decide to venture out, Santa Teresa’s unique international influence inspires world-class cuisine served by over 60 restaurants throughout town. Entertainment can be enjoyed most nights from acoustic musicians to bands and DJ’s performing at the local bars and beaches. Santa Teresa manages to be both lively and sleepy, offering the perfect vacation for all types of travelers.
What are people saying?
'We loved beautiful Casa Mango! If you like spectacular beaches, great restaurants, and wildlife in your back yard, then you'll love it too. We saw a coati, capuchin & howler monkeys plus funky squirrels without even leaving the house. On our morning walks, we saw an ocelot, more monkeys, lizards, and other wildlife. And if you've never HEARD howler monkeys, you're in for a treat! This part of Costa Rica is quite isolated, so you're not going to find it to be touristy at all, but the area is great for the independent traveler. If you like to surf, this is your place too. We just liked soaking up the rays on the beach, then going back to Casa Mango for some sort of drink from the blender, often involving mangos. The house is gorgeous -- a perfect blend of upscale and outdoor living. While there, we took a day trip to Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, which is maybe an hour drive away. Near Cabo Blanco we visited Montezuma, a funky little town on the water with great bars. But we mainly stayed in the St. Teresa/Mal Pais area - it's paradise! ENJOY!'

Why Pia Plant chose Santa Teresa
We scoured Central America for the right country, the right town, and the right home. After years of diligence we were confidant that there is no place like Santa Teresa with it's epic surf, phenomenal food and low key yet still lively vibe. Casa Mango is the exact home we were looking for. A place that felt both luxurious and homey but with a sense of adventure.
What makes this house unique
The home is located on a hill so it gets the best breeze and the most spectacular panoramic view of the ocean and the peninsula but is not too high up the hill, so it's still in close walking distance to the beach. The beach access closest to the home is our favorite spot on Playa Santa Teresa. The home sits on a private 1.25 acre lot with unobstructed views. The house itself has a great open indoor/outdoor layout and the rooms are large with lots of glass doors that open to the ocean views throughout the house. Our favorite thing to do in the home is to sit on the upstairs terrace in the morning to check the surf and again in the evening to watch the sunset.
