This beautifully renovated house is in the small town of Villa Nueva de Algaidas near Antequera. As we live in a cortijo only a couple of minutes away we are always available to assist you and help with any matters that may arise.

The house boasts 3 beautiful double bedrooms. The master bedroom leads onto a large first floor veranda with beautiful views over the countryside and village. In addition to sleeping 6 adults there is ample room for a cot which can be supplied if required. A modern bathroom with all facilities. An on-suite shower room in the master bedroom. Well equipped, kitchen with dining area, washing machine and fridge. Living /television room with comfortable sofas. DVD player. Music centre. Small library. Car hire is highly recommended but for those preferring not to hire a car, please check with us about the availability and price of transfers to/from airport (four people or less), child car seats must be provided by and are the responsibility of the client.

Ski information: The magnificent Sierra Nevada Ski resort is only 1 1/2 hours drive away and it is therefore possible to achieve a full days skiing and return to the house in one day. The resort has all the expected ski facilities including equipment hire. Being the most southerly and highest ski resort in Europe it offers skiing from December through March in a normal year. The slopes are above tree line and consist of all levels from nursery slopes to black runs. Ski lessons are available and can be booked on-line or at the resort (subject to availability).

We stayed here for a week in August. The house is beautifully renovated and the owners have thought of everything you could possible need. From the street it looks like a normal house but inside it is like a tardis and the pool area is enormous. We were just a couple but it would make a fantastic holiday for people with children. Mike was lovely and so helpful. I asked him to find me somewhere to ride an Andalucian horse, and he called within a couple of hours and put me in touch with someone. Nothing was too much trouble and we were very grateful. We were lucky enough to be there during the annual feria and had a great 4 days in the village - highly recommended.

The house and village are very quiet but within easy reach of everywhere for day trips. we would recommend this place to anyone. Hayley and Ian

HOME FROM HOME (WITH SUNSHINE!)

A holiday enjoyed by a family of five (three teenagers included!). Perfect location with fabulous views across the mountains and olive groves.

The villa is very clean and so spacious inside, with everything you could possibly wish for and more by way of equipment! Pool and outside area superb and private. Mike, the villa manager was extremely helpful and there to great us on arrival. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble.

Felt very safe in the village and amongst the locals. Small supermarket not far from the villa which had ample choice and not expensive either. Plenty of places to eat and drink also if you wish to.

Great road access to many places - Antequera 20 minutes away (Lidl supermarket there). El Torcal National Park is a must - views are so incredible, as is Lake Iznajar. We also visited Ronda.

Looking forward to hopefully visiting again next summer!

Owner's Response: It is wonderful that a family enjoyed their holiday at Casa Amelia to the extent that they are planning to return next year. We have many returning guests, now friends who have holidayed at Casa Amelia for several years. Whilst the village is fairly small, about 4500 inhabitants, there is quite a lot to do locally with the abundance of bars and restaurants that exist in the village, there is always local company to be found somewhere in the evening. There is also a disco bar for those young at heart.

Relaxing by the beautiful pool is the favorite way to pass days that you are not out visiting the many attractions that are within easy reach.

This is a very friendly village and you can feel secure wandering about with even the smallest of children.

You can rest assured that we will do all we can to make your holiday enjoyable and carefree.

A TRULY WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AT CASA AMELIA

My family and myself had an excellent holiday at Casa Amelia. The property was wonderful and matched the property description and photographs provided on the HomeAway.co.uk website absolutely. The property is extemely well equiped in every respect, thus making it a real "home from home": the provision of both bath towels and swimming pool towels was a real bonus. The pool was incredible and is just what is required when the temperature outside soared to 40 deg C or above. Inside the ceiling fans provided a cooling circulation of air to allow rest, relaxation and plenty of sleep. Not only was the property and pool excellent but the village of Villanueva de Algaidas was a tremendous place to holiday, with excellent amenities including restaurants, coffee shops and bars, not to mention a number of well stocked shops. I can thoroughly recommend an afternoon spent meandering from one bar to another, having a glass of wine and tapas at each bar!.
The village of Villanueva de Algaidas is positioned ideally for holiday makers to visit the Andalucian "Jewels in the Crown" of Granada (don't miss the Alhambra Palace!), Seville, Cordoba and nearby Antequera which are all in easy reach. Finally, this review would not be complete without mentioning the invaluable but unobtrusive help and support the property Manager Mike is able to provide in many ways to enable holiday makers to get the best out of the town and the area and thus have a truly memorable holiday.

Owner's Response: We love it when our guests go home happy and content after a good relaxing holiday. It was certainly very warm whilst Patricia, Andrew and family were here and they certainly made good use of the pool and patio to relax and unwind. We have not had any guests yet who have managed to find all the bars in the village, let alone have a drink in them all. It's good fun trying though.

GLORIOUS ANDALUSIA

I stayed at the property for a week in October 2011 with my family, including my almost 3 year old son. The house was amazing and had everything we possibly needed. Mike was there to great us on our arrival and was very friendly and helpful. He even whizzed me off to the local supermarket for some last minute shopping before closing time. My son loved the pool and the area around it. The pool itself was too cold to swim in, but my son had a great time playing with the water anyway.

The area and village are great as well. Very quiet location and everything you need close by. There are two playgrounds in the village, which my son enjoyed. Lovely views of olive trees everywhere you go.

The location is very convenient. We visited Antequera, Torcal National Park, Granada, Cordoba, Ronda and the beach. All were within 1.5/2 hours driving from the house.

Too many things to see for a single week, so will have to come back some time to see the rest.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that Roland and his family had such a great time. They certainly made the most of seeing the many attractions that are within easy reach of the House and we hope that they will return in the future to see all those that they did not have time for. It is unfortunate, in one sense that in October the nights are a little cooler and therefore the pool water can lose some of its ambient heat. Probably too cold for young children but the more hardy adults will still cope. However, its benefit is that it is more comfortable for sleeping.

GREAT HOUSE, GREAT VILLAGE !!!!

We stayed here July / August 2011 for 3 weeks. The house is wonderful and exactly as per the description - not a thing was out of place. The House is situated in a nice quiet location yet only a few minutes walk from the bars/restaurants. The pool is to die for - in the sun all day long and warm as a bath!!

The village is not bustling, but there was always enough going on. It's situated in the perfect place to visit Cordoba, Granada and Malaga. The beach is not too far - but with that pool, why would you need it....?

Mike is a fabulous host. Always on hand to help out and offer advice as to where to go and what to do. He is very knowledgeable in the area - which always helps the trepid explorer!!!!

We'll be back!!! (sometime).....

Owner's Response: There is so much to do and see in Andalucia and the main attractions are all within easy driving distance, making a holiday at Casa Amelia the perfect base for an extended 3 week holiday. With the wonderful Summer temparatures it's also a great place to relax and soak up the sun when taking a break from sightseeing or when you return in the evening for a cooling dip in the pool, followed by a stroll into the village for dinner at one of the excellent bar/restaurants. Many clients return to Casa Amelia and receive the added benefit of returning client discounts.

GREAT HOUSE IN GREAT LOCATION

Rented the house for a week, drove down via the eurotunnel with the intenion of visiing Cordoba, Seville etc but found the house and the village so comfortable and welcoming that we hardly moved out. Thoroughly relaxing week in a very comfortable spacious house with an absolutely superb pool and outside area. Thanks to Mike for being so welcoming! Would definitely like to visit again.
