Chalet Capricorne is a quality 5 bedroom chalet that has been recently renovated to a high standard. It combines traditional Savoyard style and local materials with modern luxuries such as under floor heating, WiFi, a state of the art cinema system, hot tub, sauna and fitness room.
Chalet Capricorne has been arranged over two floors. On the ground floor there are three bedrooms (2 twin rooms and 1 double room), two bathrooms (1 large family bathroom and an ensuite shower room) and a separate WC. The sauna and fitness room are also on this floor. The entrance hall has a large coat cupboard and the utility room, which is accessed from the fitness room, has a washing machine and dryer.
On the first floor there is a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area with an open fire. The lounge area has comfortable seating and a media system with Satellite TV, DVD and music system. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and the dining table seats 12. There is a set of glass doors from the dining area onto a south facing balcony with magnificent views of the Dru, Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc. Steps from the balcony lead down to the hot tub and garden. There are two double bedrooms on this floor, both with ensuite shower rooms. One of the bedrooms has a set of glass doors onto the balcony. There is also a small office area on the first floor.
Outside, on the terrace, is dining furniture and an eight-person hot tub with views of the surrounding peaks. The landscaped garden, with lawn, is south facing with mountain views. There is adequate parking space in the driveway and the porched entrance has a room for ski storage and a heated boot rack.
Chalet Capricorne is a luxurious and stylish chalet for up to 10 guests in the beautiful Les Praz area of Chamonix, close to Flegere ski area and Chamonix golf course.
Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.
Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canoeing and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, jacuzzi, the list goes on!
