The pictures are not representative of what will await you! Fabric on the furniture are torn, worn, dusty and the stuffing is poking out of some. The kitchen is not pictured for a reason, it is early 20th century at best...You enter on the ground floor into a dark and moldy space (ok, it is Venice after all), but the second floor landing awaits you with the smell of...hm...feces? When you arrive at the apartment level the walls are losing their plaster faster than you can run away. The owner, did not meet us. Another man did. He did not speak one word English as the owner does. The owner refused to refund our rent. We left within 2 hours. Don't make the same mistake. Buyer beware!

Owner's Response: I think that a hole in the sofa ( the sofa was replaced the next day ) and a bit of paint peeling off the wall ( on the ground floor and on the stairs, not in the apartment ) are things of no importance compared to other things such as the size of the apartment, its habitability, its location, 100 meters from Piazza San Marco.
Unfortunately I can not write a review on these people otherwise I would recommend to all owners not rent their apartments to them .
This property was everything we expected. Great central location just 1 minute to walk to St Mark's Square! So convenient to see Venice at it's best - before all the other tourists arrive for the day! We had wonderful walks in the early morning over canal bridges, down to the lagoon shore & to pick upour fresh bread!
It sleeps 6 people comfortably with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. The dining room & sitting room are large & have character.
We would recommend this apartment to anyone. Only drawback is it is up 2 flights of stairs and close to church bells - but so are most apartments in Venice!
Thank you Michele for letting us share your wonderful city for a week.

Families with Young Children,
Owner's Response: Thank you Ros & Terry,
I'm sincerely very pleased to know you and your family enjoyed my apartment and Venice.
You are welcome anytime.
St. Mark's Square is undoubtedly the most photographed and famous plaza in Europe, in the heart of the city, surrounded by chic sidewalk cafes and boutiques.
The centrepiece of most visits to Venice – many of the main tourist sites are here and the main vaporetto or water-bus from Marco Polo airport stops here as well. At one end lies the Basilica di San Marco, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe . Back to Saint Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale) is regal and refined . A succession of Doges, or Dukes, ruled Venice from the end of the 7th to the end of the 18th Centuries. The Palace was the political centre of the Venetian empire .
