Cortijo La Meseta is on a small hill in 5000 sq. m. of land,with spectacular views in every direction.It is on the edge of the Cabo de Gata National Park and 200 yds from the riverbed used in Laurence of Arabia for the attack on Aquaba and one can drive along it to the beach where Peter O Toole saw the sea in 5 minutes. Carboneras is a traditional fishing community of a kind rarely found nowadays in the Mediterranean, everybody knows everybody, there are no traffic lights, high rises, speed cameras, vandals, or any of those things that make modern life so enjoyable... there are internet cafes and a call centre if you do need to stay in touch. It has many fish restaurants, and some of the most unspoiled beaches in the Mediterranean. The house has a 70 sq m. pool in a walled patio with its own kitchen and barbecue.In front of the house is the terrace you see in the photo,where you can watch the sun go down over the mountains.

The pool is in a private walled patio with a kitchen so one eat there or have a barbecue. The house has a high ceilings so it is cool in summer and a large fireplace for cosy winter evenings. It is ideal for exploring the Cabo de gata Park, and pets are welcome. One can walk to the riverbed featured in the Aquaba sequence in Laurence of Arabia in 5 minutes and there is a beautiful walk to the beach if you bring your dog.

Notes: The pool is in a large Andalusian walled patio with a fully equipped kitchen, so if you eat there you don't have to keep going backwards and forwards to the house kitchen. It has sun loungers and two tables, and and 2 flowerbeds..there are 2 shaded areas so in the height of summer you can always eat out of the sun.

Cabo de Gata Park: The house is 200 yds from the riverbed where the Aquaba sequence was filmed for Laurence of Arabia and one can walk or drive down it to the beautiful beaches of Algarrobico or La Galera..where even in in July there are never many people.The park extends for miles to the north and west of the property and is ideal for people who wish to go on holiday with their dogs. The house is at the beginning of a valley where there are several charming unspoilt villages ...El Saltador, La Cueva del Pajaro and El Cañarico... these are some of the most picturesque villages left within 5 miles of the Mediterranean any where in Europe.

There is a kayak available, with a deposit of 300 Euros... rental 50 Euros per week, but it must not be left on beach overnight. Bicycles are 10 Euros per week, punctures, repairs responsibility on person's rentnig.
