Makaha Condo Rental Photos and Description

Best Unit, View, Location, And Perfect Spot On The Leeward Side Of Oahu

This unit is gorgeous and has it all plus some! It is very open and spacious with white cabinets, granite counter tops, full-size appliances, white double lined custom drapes and island decor. There is a table with chairs for dining on the lanai. The kitchen is fully equipped with new small appliances, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and serving pieces including tablecloths and napkins. The lanai is seen through double sliding glass doors with a beautiful view of the sandy beach, mountains, swimmers, surfers and people enjoying life. The condo itself is on the 2nd floor, corner unit of a 6 story complex. It is on the shady side of the building and overlooks the mountains, beach and the ocean. The condo has 2 ceiling fans and with the trade winds you get a wonderful breeze. It has a flat screen TV with DVD. There is also WIFI and cable TV. The condo is steps from the ocean...literally 30 steps as the crow flies. The huge lanai has a table and chairs to enjoy outside eating all day. It is a fantastic place to watch the sunrise each morning. The complex has a bar-b-q area with table and chairs surrounding the heated-salt-water swimming pool, which is normally kept at a comfortable 85 degrees. There is also an elevator and a coin-operated laundry. There is a keyed-elevator for your convenience and safety. Each unit has assigned parking in the garage. There is an on-site resident manager with security cameras, fenced, and night security guard. This allows you to feel safe leaving your sliding-glass doors open all the time. The grounds are green and lush and groomed daily. Our condo is within a few miles of two different beaches, a port, library and the city of Waianae with restaurants and shopping. In the unit is a 'Welcome Book' complete with all the local information on where to go and who to contact. We have tried to make this condo completely ready for your total entertainment, enjoyment and relaxation in paradise! We absolutely love the ocean view with constant surfers, swimmers and snorkelers. You can join in or just watch from our private lanai. We really enjoy swimming in the salt-water pool, playing in the sand on the beach, snorkeling, swimming in the surf or out to the 'Turtle Feeding Station' or just sitting on the beach enjoying the sun and the surf. In the evening we relax under a clear shy from our lanai enjoying poo-poos, having a cocktail and savoring being in Hawaii! Although, living in Makaha it is pretty quiet, there are also many local attractions including other beaches like Yokahama beach, Po'Kai Bay beach great for swimming and snorkeling. At Po'Kai is the Piilaau Military Recreation Center Club with a great open-air restaurant with live music on the weekends. Our favorite restaurant is Kahumana Organic Farm Restaurant. But wait, our most favorite seafood restaurant is Maili Sunset Bar and Grill... come casual, grab a bib, and eat with your fingers the best seafood boil with a garlic-butter sauce which comes with crab, shrimp, crawfish, clams, muscles, potatoes and corn....it is by far the best meal I have ever had....it is worth a trip to Makaha just to savor this meal. Waianae has some nice casual restaurants plus grocery stores and fast food. Ko'Lina has many restaurants with bars, three lagoons for swimming, and Paradise Cove Luau. Kapolei has Costco, Walmart, many shops and fine restaurants. It also has a Wild Water Park. There is also venturing to Honolulu, an hour away, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life or take a trip out to the North Shore and watch the waves or enjoy local food. If you are really adventurist we have local names and numbers to arrange surfing lessons or to take a sail. We also have a studio available!

Why Elaine Sackville-West chose Makaha

Makaha is located at the far end of the leeward (west) side of Oahu. It is the very last set of condos before the road ends at Yokanama beach the northwest tip of Oahu. The Makaha Shores complex consist of 88 units and was built in 1967. The majority of the units are studios with 20 one bedrooms and a few 2 bedrooms and one 3 bedroom. It is in excellent condition for being built so long ago. The owners have made sure that it is well maintained and up to current standards. The building is beautiful and has lush landscaping. There are assigned parking stalls The heated salt-water pool is cleaned nearly every day. We have made many friends and love entertaining and enjoying them. Makaha Shores allows renters on a month-to-month basis as an established complex versus a hotel. There are assigned parking stalls, and on site manager, fenced off from the Makaha Surfing Beach, and has night security with many cameras and lights. There is also keyed entrance to the beach and the elevator. There is on site laundry and easy chutes to dispose of trash. Makaha gets very little rain and is blessed with cool trade winds. When other parts of the island or having bad weather...we are not. The weather stay between 80 and 86 degrees, very comfortable. There is a beautiful view of the sunrise coming over the mountains and a sunset way out in the ocean. We often get together with friends to enjoy the sunset, a magnificent sight. It is completely away from the hustle and bustle of downtown city and tourists. Makaha beach is very quiet and peaceful. Yet it is close to shopping, restaurants, golf, luaus and other attractions. It is the perfect location for surfing, snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing or just walking on the beach. There is always whale watching, swimming with the dolphins or scuba diving. Monk seals and sea turtles can be seen resting on the beach. Makaha is a great place to relax and enjoy the weather, beach and sunsets...a tropical paradise

What makes this condo unique

Unimaginably close to the ocean says it all! We overlook the famous Makaha Surfing Beach. The location cannot be duplicated and is awesome. From our lanai we watch surfers, supsquashes, canoes and wave runners carrying surfers in and out of the huge surf at when there are big waves. There are often visits from monk seals and turtles enjoying the beach. The beach has lifeguards from 9am - 5pm. At times the surf is rough but mostly it is calm and very enjoyable to swim, snorkel, surf, sit on the beach or walk along the edge. The locals often have surfing tournaments. The most famous is the Buffalo Tournament for two weekends in February. Buffalo was an avid surfer and lifeguard here at the beach many years ago. The condo itself has been remodeled and is an oceanfront studio but feel much bigger. It is located on the 2nd floor on the shady side of the building. The condo overlooks the beach with unbelievable views of the mountains and the ocean with surfers every day. Double sliding doors, ceiling fans and the cool ocean breeze make this the perfect place to relax and enjoy life.
