|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Cashew Villa is perched on a ridge, high above the Caribbean Sea. The pool deck and living areas offer spectacular views over the sea, and the Piton Mountains. The self-contained apartment on the lower level can be rented separately or along with the main villa. The accomodation suits outdoor types, there are a lot of great walks nearby. Rental car or jeep is recommended but not essential. The town of Soufriere is 1.5 miles away, Anse Chastanet Resort, Marine Reserve and beach 1 mile away.
In the Area: Cashew Villa is located high on a ridge between the town of Soufriere and Anse Chastanet beach, home of the Anse Chastanet Resort. The beach is public, and a favourite of our guests. Available facilities include snorkeling and scuba diving in a Marine Reserve, mountain biking, tennis, windsurfing, sunfish sailing, and a great beachside restaurant for lunch and dinner. There are many more dining options in and around Soufriere, from local chicken and rotis to top quality international cuisine. Just outside Soufriere you will find the Diamond Mineral Baths, Botanic Gardens, waterfalls, Rainforest, and 'Drive-in' volcano.
Around the island: Soufriere is located on the south-west coast of the island, on the Caribbeean Sea. Part of the Windward Island chain, St. Lucia measures only 20 miles long by 14 wide. The interior is rugged, with lush tropical rain forest covering the steep mountain slopes. The most impressive mountains are the twin Pitons, sheer-walled peaks which rise up from the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The coastline offers many wonderful beaches, ranging from the golden shell sand of Reduit Beach in the north, to the dark volcanic sand of Anse Chastanet Bay in the south.
Supplies: There are several grocery shops and a Saturday morning market in Soufriere. Basic supplies are readily obtainable, even on a Sunday morning. The sound of a conch shell tells you when fresh fish has been landed.
A 'starter-pack' for first breakfast is included, and additional supplies can be ordered ahead of time, just e-mail a list and pay when you get here.
Our housekeeper, Berthia, is available to cook local-style meals, if required.
Brent & Lorene, Idaho,USA 'Outstanding value. Wow. This is a great spot. Where else can you shower like you feel you are outdoors and have a wonderful view of the Pitons? Spent 2 weeks here and loved every minute of it. Walked most of the time but this is only for the fit, young and tightly budgeted. Getting a vehicle is a must for most people. Thanks Chris and Joyce for your wonderful hospitality and making us feel like part of the family.'
Pamela Haag, Washington, dc: 'This is a delightful space for two, with a truly breathtaking view, in an ideal location for a relaxing winter vacation or for those interested in hiking and other activities. We would definitely recommend renting a four-wheel drive or SUV, however, if you rent a vehicle, as the ascent up the very steep hill to this location is nervewracking in a regular car!'
Bill and Evelyn, UK: Wonderful! We are already planning our next visit. Berthia really looked after us, we can't thank you enough for the great treatme
Having just arrived back from this wonderful villa, I feel i must say how nice and spacious Cashew Villa actually is, with the lovely touches of the owners artwork and a stunning view of the pitons and a 15 minute walk to the beach. I would like to thank Chris the owner for also coming along to see if there were any problems or anything needed doing, and also the housekeeper Berthia (an excellent cook - the best creole food we had there. better than the restaurants) I would advise hiring a car if you have a family though. But apart from that it is very clean and peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would go back to cashew villa if i was thinking of staying in St lucia again.
Arriving in St. Lucia we were so excited to see our amazing villa... and it did not disappoint! Perched high on a hill over Soufriere, the views are even more amazing than the pictures. We were picked up by Cool Breeze car hire - who we would highly recommend! There were 4 of us & we hired a Jeep Wrangler, which is a must need for this villa. The place is just perfect for 4 - 2 couples & we rented both the villa & the apartment. There is loads of inside space & really homely decorated with pictures of the family, lots of books & board games, which gave a lovely, inviting touch to the place. Outside space was perfect - pool was great & lounge & bbq areas meant we had plenty of space for the 4 of us & were never on top of each other.
Special shout out to Alvin & Berthia. Alvin is the gardener & was extremely helpful and friendly for the 2 weeks. Alvin really went above & beyond to make us feel welcome, it was really nice to get to know him and learn all about Soufriere. Berthia looked after us really well & cooked dinner one night which was amazing. The local beach Anse Chanstenet was amazing - cocktails, really good food & great snorkeling all within 5 mins of the villa. Took a boat taxi with Solomon to Castries for the carnival - highly recommended if you can make it! Also Orlandos does great lunch & dinner nearby at the bottom of the hill, and Sean's bar beside Orlando's (not the name of the bar but the guy worked there was called Sean) was full of really friendly helpful people.
All & all it was a brilliant fortnight & highly recommend it if you want to experience the Caribbean at a fraction of the cost of the local hotels - and the view is the BEST on the island.

Wow .... I must say, this has an amazing view of the ocean and the Pitons !
We, 2 couples, rented the upper portion with the kitchen, and the bedroom on the lower level that did not have a kitchen. Both had bathrooms, which is something we look for in a villa. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, and has lots of dinnerware. The villa was clean, Berthia came in once while we stayed there for 3 nights. We also had her cook us a meal....ha ha..you would think she was cooking for twice as many people ! It was an excellent meal, I would recommend getting her to make you dinner some evening. We had her make it when she came to clean after the other renters downstairs left, then we warmed it up once we got back home.
The villa could use a little tender loving care, but remember, you are not paying $300/night. I think this villa was very good value for your money. Loved the large deck with the dining table, and the deck beside the pool...you can watch the divers below. There are lots of towels, so no need to bring a beach towel, which is nice.
The road to get there is typical St. Lucian....lots of twists and turns, has holes and rocks...no signs. Chris had given me directions to get there, but a little more detail would have been better....we stopped and asked several people that were walking on the roads, or I am not sure we would have found it. I highly recommend an SUV when driving any roads off of the highway, as they are not the best.
From there, we drove to Anse Chastenet and Anse Mamin to snorkel and swim....very nice beach, some shade. We also did the Tet Paul Trail, the Diamond Botanical garden and Waterfall, the Sulphur Pools and Mudbath, a stop at Malgretoute Beach. We went into Soufriere to eat dinner one day and explore the town. Once you make a trip or two over the road, you get to know your way, and where the holes are in the road :)
The villa is very peaceful...there are neighbours, but you don't see them at all because of the dense growth. The pool is wonderful, the landscaping beautiful !! I would recommend Cashew Villa, and would have no qualms going back there again...anyone with questions, feel free to contact me.
We just returned from our 2nd stay, in as many years, at Cashew Villa Complete. The villa has one of the best views in the Caribbean with a large swimming pool and a well designed, comfortable house. We had to revisit!
The owners, Chris and Joyce, are nice people who will work hard to make your stay as memorable as the view.

What a fabulous location, breathtaking views, well worth being up the steep hill. Villa very comfortable, had everything we needed except washing machine but lovely housekeeper took it and did it for us. Fab verandah to eat on. We were a party of 6, aged 17-50+ and everyone agreed it was a great villa, just what we wanted, we loved it. Nice pool with fishpond around it, space for sunbathing. Could have done with another couple of sun loungers but it really wasn't an issue, plenty of chairs to read in. Ideal villa if you don't want to go to all ends of the islands as roads small and windy, but enough to do and see locally for a week, no problem. We relaxed and enjoyed. Well worth recommending.
Cashew Villa is located close to the Pitons World Heritage Site, and offers unsurpassed views of these spectacular mountains. The Rainforest Reserve and Soufriere Marine Park are all close by. The nearest hotel is the world famous Jade Mountain at Anse Chastanet. The traditional Caribbean community of Soufriere and the World's only 'Drive-in' Volcano are only a short drive away.
