This luxury apartment is situated in a pretty gated, landscaped courtyard with a private garden in the heart of London. It is extremely central and within walking distance of the British Museum, London University and the new British Library. There are several parks and a large children's playground (Coram Fields) within 5 minutes walk. This is a family owned apartment, available at reasonable rates, and is suitable for visitors who would enjoy living in the comfort of somewhere like home in central London. Please note the property is available for a minimum stay of 5 nights.

The flat is in Bloomsbury, within walking distance of the British Museum, galleries and exhibition centers. The area was populated by artists and writers, e.g. Hogarth, Charles Dickens and Virginia Woolf, and retains many of the buildings of the period. There is now an interesting mix of commercial and residential life with garden squares and parks, restaurants, health food shops and an art-house cinema. Saddlers Wells is very nearby. The flat is excellently located for public transport. It is 5 minutes walk to Kings Cross station (trains to Scotland), St Pancreas (Eurostar) and Euston. The nearest tube stations are King's Cross, Russell Square and Euston. Bus stops within 3 minutes walk to all parts of London.

  • The price quoted is for a maximum of 5 people. Price £200 per night. Minimum stay 5 nights, maximum 30 nights. Changeover dates are flexible. The price includes electricity, gas, internet and linen. A deposit of 20% secures the booking & covers against breakage, loss or damage. Telephone charges are deducted from the deposit. If you would like extra cleaning service this can be arranged. The cost is £10 per hour with a minimum charge of 3 hours. There are local laundry services for shirts and suits etc.
  • Payment only accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency & the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner/advertisor.
  • 20% deposit within 7 days of confirmation of booking. Full payment due 30 days prior to arrival.

Notes: Entry to the property is though courtyard gates with an electronically operated fob and entryphone. The ground floor of the maisonette is entered through double front doors into a wide hall. The ground floor has wood floors throughout. On the right is the kitchen/diner which has an extendable table and seats six. From the hall, glass doors lead to the large living room which has a gas fire. Double French doors lead to a landscaped garden with granite table and chairs. There is a downstairs WC and large cupboards under the stairs. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances and has a granite work top. Upstairs the master bedroom overlooks the courtyard and has an ensuite bathroom with underfloor heating. The second bedroom has twin beds, and looks onto the garden. The third bedroom has a single bed. There is a separate showeroom with WC, large linen cupboard and bookshelves in the passage. This floor is carpeted throughout. Both double bedrooms have large fitted cupboards.

Everything perfect. Wonderfully comfortable flat, well equipped and an excellent location for us. Olga welcomed us on arrival and guided us through everything with ease. Received information on local shops and restaurants - Waitrose an easy walk away. Our daughter found the tube ride from Kings Cross to Heathrow to be no problem. There was a bit too much rain! to enjoy the garden but enjoyed looking out onto it whilst chilling.

great Christmas

Our grown-up family - which is scattered, but we all hail from London originally - wanted to get together for Christmas in London, and we did so in this lovely, beautifully furnished and well-equipped flat in December 2008. We cannot speak highly enough of the helpfulness of the owners who were so accommodating for our arrangements - people arriving at different times and from different directions. We were able to entertain an elderly mother for Christmas dinner because the flat was so comfortable for her (it wouldn't have been possible in other smaller family venues) and we all valued the experience very much. One of our best Christmases ever. We know the Bloomsbury area well - and we can recommend this location to any out-of-town visitors. It is wonderfully convenient for tourist spots, shops, libraries, places of worship if you need them, train stations, buses - and it is in a real neighbourhood. During our leisurely stay we even discovered some corners that we hadn't known before - some nice little pubs and parks and pretty streets and neighbourhood stores. People who want to experience 'real' London - but still very close to 'tourist London' - could hardly do better.

Spotless

Our family stayed in early 2008 and found our hosts welcomed us to quiet, secure (gated), spotless and extremely comfortable accommodation a very short couple of minutes walk from tube and national rail stations and bus, or a longer stroll into the city. The British Museum is a short stroll, easy for the odd free hour or so though deserving more..

The flat istelf was not cluttered or fussy but tasteful with good quality fixtures and art/ornaments and since our hosts stay there themselves as convenient, is fully equipped and feels like a real home- genuinely comfortable beds with quality bedding, all household equipment and the little extras including pantry basics to hand. Bedrooms, including the two spacious ones, are upstairs so you do need to be able to manage stairs. There is no real robe in the third (single) bedroom but some coat hooks and a bureau sufficed, and there is a coat cupboard understair with drying racks available. An ensuite as well as separate bathroom and a separate downstairs loo makes it suitable to family or two couples plus one other person.

It was too cold to use the small garden when we visited but nice to know it was there and not feel overlooked; and there is a good local supermarket a comfortable walk away with everything including semi-prepared foods if required. It does lack a full complement of TV channels but, really, you don't visit London to watch TV. Get a life! Go see a show or watch a video or read to veg out at the end of a busy day (there are books and travel stuff provided). Set your recorder at home if you are desperate for a particular episode of something! There is internet access.

My only hesitation in writing a review is that we hope to go back in late 2009 and don't want to find it booked up by someone who reads our review!

Lovely flat!!

The flat is in very nice updated condition and very clean. Location is excellent for getting around London, 3 blocks to a major tube/train station. Local caretaker very friendly and efficient. Lovely private back courtyard, if the weather cooperates to allow you to hang outside! Only minor downside is TV only gets 5 local channels and DVD player does not play US version DVDs.

All in all, a wonderful stay and a charming flat in London!
