Photos and Description of the Ronco sopra Ascona vacation villa rental
2 terraces, 3 bedrooms, 2 parking spots, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, CD, DVD, for 7

Wonderful luxurious villa, quiet, charming, at the Lago Maggiore on a cliff in the picturesque village of Ronco sopra Ascona (10 min from Locarno, 5 min von Ascona). Enjoy the Mediterranean climate, the garden with camellias, mimosas, rhododendron, and palm trees. Our two large terraces offer 180 degrees of beautiful lake view. The villa has an open, ample layout, with a fireplace, 3 large bedrooms, one with a romantic balcony, the others with direct access to the terrace with sun loungers. For complete relaxation, take a dip in the Finnish Hotpot. Our barbecue area, romantically surrounded by roses and palms is known to induce quite profound philosophising whilst contemplating the lake view. The villa is equipped with a flat screen TV, CD- and DVD-player, as well as 24 hrs free Wi-Fi. The kitchen is fully equipped and a complimentary welcome tiramisu will be awaiting you. All you need to do yourself is cook. There is a guide for fans of sports and culture, music and festivals.

Hiking areas: Chairlifts and cable cars from Cardada / Cimetta.

Enjoy 360° panoramic view over the delta of the Maggia between Locarno and the Ascona, from the lowest point of Switzerland up to the Monte Rosa Massif, the highest point in Switzerland.

Cardada / Cimetta offer countless hiking trails and wonderful walks for every age group. As long as the sun has not melted the snow, you can go snow shoeing here. The most valuable treasures are often hidden...

Bosco Gurin:

One of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland, this quaint village was founded in 1253 by Walser settlers and has been beautifully preserved with all its original houses and wood. Here you can truly dive into the past and spend an unforgettable time enjoying the calm, being active in nature and discovering traditions.

Onsernone (Maggia) and the Verzasca valley, the Onsernone valley and the Cavegna Lake:

A wild, deeply furrowed, v-shaped valley, running from east to west along the course of the sun, with steep, almost inaccessible flanks, and sunny villages hugging the southern wall half way up on terraced grounds. Far away from urban centres, this valley has preserved its calm and quiet, bathed in an almost magical nature and culture. The Maggia valley is shaped like a hand; it spreads over the Val di Campo, Val di Bosco, Val Bavona, Val Lavizzara, and the Val Peccia like a large, knobbly hand with crooked fingers, and is crisscrossed by blue streams perfect for bathing and swimming coming from the alpine passes and mountain ridges.

The Verzasca Valley:

This valley is wild, romantic and fascinating. It has maintained the typical ancient character of the southern alpine valleys. The region has been developed for tourism offering many interesting sights and activities in the areas of culture, nature and sports.

Boat trips on the Lago Maggiore: Market in Intra (Italy):

The town of Intra-Verbania boasts one of the most popular markets at the Lago Maggiore. The coastal road towards the border crossing Brissago (Madonna di Ponte) usually has a good amount of traffic. Why not take the ferry or travel by hydrofoil craft?

Among the amazing market offers, the cheeses especially worth tasting. Don't leave without having tried the cream cheeses, Mozzarella, Parmigiano, and Pecorino. Also worth mentioning are the fresh fish from the lakes and the rivers, the cured meats and sausages, breads and honey products. Even in winter, the stands are filled with fresh produce. Shoes, handbags, belts and jackets made of leather are also especially popular - as in all markets in northern Italy.

The Brissago islands:

The botanical gardens in the canton of Tessin offer a perfect opportunity to escape the noise, chaos and stress of everyday life. The exotic plants, colours and smells increase our physical and psychological well being.

Ronco sopra Ascona is one of the most popular destinations at the Lago Maggiore – rich in history and culture, famous for its beautiful views, also known as the 'Balcony of the Lago Maggiore', blooming mimosas, palms, azaleas, rhododendron, citrus trees, camellias, agaves, and eucalyptus trees. There is a small supermarket, as well as very good restaurants. The immediate environment offers a lot of activities: swimming in the lake (Ascona, Porto Ronco), the Lido water park in Locarno, crystal clear rivers, Maggia, Verzasca, golf, mountain biking, horseback riding, sailing, wind surfing, water ski, flying, parachuting, paragliding, climbing, hiking, tennis, skiing. Within 10 minutes (car/bus) you are in Ascona, Locarno or Cannobio with fantastic promenades. You can also visit the New Orleans Jazz Festival, rock concerts under the moon and stars, the Locarno film festival, the Settimane Musicali (classical music), as well as the museum in Monte Verita, made famous by Hermann Hesse.

Other activities: parachuting, flying.

Golf, Golf course Loosen:

The architect Peter Harradine had the ability to integrate the beauty of this region of Loosen into an interesting golf course that has something for every player-level. The course makes its way through countless rocks, lakes and hills and represents a challenge for every skill level.

Golf course Ascona:

18 tracks on a golf course of the highest quality represent a balance between tradition and innovation. Known as one of the most beautiful golf courses in Switzerland, this golf course meanders between old wooded growth in a landscape of rare beauty. The flat championship course has an impressive technical standard.

Ski, Cardada:

Skiing only a few metres away from the city centre? That is no problem in Cardada! The slopes on the Cimetta are perfect for ski fans who don't want to spend a long time travelling to get there and who simply want to enjoy some sun and fun in the snow. The slopes curve through a breathtaking panorama and the mild temperatures convert the skiing into pure enjoyment. Cimetta is especially suited for beginners.

Bosco Gurin:

In the winter, Bosco Gurin means ski sport! From the first steps with a handful of ski lifts in the 1960s, to the creation of an aerial tram in the 90s, the offerings have expanded to include very diverse slopes fascinating even the most passionate athletes in the sport.

Nowadays Bosco Gurin comprises more than 30 slopes, suitable for beginners and advanced skiers.
