MARILENA HOUSE IS LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF VARENNA 150 METERS FROM THE FERRY DOCK AND 300 METERS FROM TRAIN STATION: from 7 to 30m shops, bars and restaurants, beach and walking-way which leads in 150 meters to the ferry dock where one can take boats to visit the other villages around the lake. MARILENA HOUSE, Central apartment located in the heart of the historic center of Varenna Lake Como. All the building belongs to the family owner living in the same property. The apartment offers the best services as everything is quite close, bars restaurants shops pharmacy from 7 to 30 meters. The lake is only 30 meters and the ferry dock to catch all the ferries to cross the lake is only 150 meters far, so a very short walk.The train station is only 300 meters.Pls note Varenna train station is the only train station of all lake Como towns ,where all the fast trains from and to milan stop every hour.The villa Cipressi and villa Monastero are only 70 meters far.

    Heating is the only extra cost on consumption bases.Account required on booking: balance to be paid in Italy on arrival upon keys-delivery.
    I never ask any security deposit as all the previous clients always respected the apartments.
    Preferably weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday, minimum stay of 3-4 nights only if possible. Prices include towels, bed linen, electricity, but not heating which is the only extra cost and the cheapest we have in Italy: Price heating 1 Euro/ each cubic meter. There is a metered gas in the apartment so clients only pay what they need.

My husband and I stayed at "Marilena House " for a month this spring. Marilena is an excellent host and very concerned that everything is in order. The apartment was well furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom new and very good. Everything you could ever need was in the kitchen, with a little balcony overlooking the street below. Two minutes away on the square are two small food stores and it is fun to shop in these little places. The salumeria has wonderful local cheese and sausage. The green grocer has fresh produce and everyday things. Both have good wine and beer selections. The church, good cafes and pizzerias are right there, too. The ferries and the train are at only some minutes walk. Varenna is a charming village with good restaurants and beautiful vistas everywhere. Marilena's apartments are definitely one of the best choices in town.
We also stayed at "Camilla House" for a few days and the lake views are wonderful.

We absolutely loved Varenna. For the week we were there in August it drew us in and welcomed us. Very soon we were recognised at the Barilot bar and began to feel like locals. We found everyone to be charming. The standard of food at all the restaurants we visited was very high. Marilena is a star. When we arrived my husband realised he had lost his reading glasses on the journey. Without a seconds hesitation Marilena took hers off and insisted he borrow them for our stay! She was very friendly and helpful throughout our holiday in Varenna, and her apartment was like moving in to a real Italian home. We loved sitting on the little balcony with a bottle of wine. After a very short while we even got used to the church bells! All part of a wonderful holiday. We will definitely return to one of Marilenas apartments.

We have just spent 2 weeks in marilina house varenna on the lake of como. The apartment is extremely well equipped for self catering and the cupboard full of very good dinner and glass ware. There are lots of books including some very good antique books of the area. All this overlooks piazza san giorgio through shuttered windows. Varenna is ideally positioned in the central area of lake como, quickly and easily reached by train and the house is within easy walking distance of the train station and ferry dock. Our host marilena is multi linqual and is on hand to help anytime if necessary. If time allows she will take you on a trip to the supermarket and sightseeing.
Marilena is a gem.
