A day visit to the ancient and sacred island of Delos, where, according to mythology, the god of light, Apollo and goddess Artemis were born, is something you should not miss. Delos was one of the major religious and commercial centre of the ancient Greek world and one of the biggest and most significant communities in the Hellenistic period and Roman era. It's one of the best preserved archaeological sites. Visit the excellent on-site museum, where some beautiful finds are displayed.
