Overlooking the exclusive Hotel d`Inghilterra and on the corner of fashionable Via Condotti in Rome, the Zegno apartment is in the heart of all that is elegant in the Eternal City. A two minute walk puts you in front of the Spanish Steps, a location that is so popular because it is so central. Stroll for 15 minutes and you can find yourself at most of the noteworthy sites of historic Rome.
The building mirrors the neighborhood, a proper 'palazzo' built about 250 years ago when the Princes Torlonia were amassing their fortunes by managing the fortunes of the Vatican and build the palace across the street. The warm ochre of the Palazzo, enhanced by its white marble casements, dominates the near-view from two of the living room windows. The palace is subtly lit at night; it glows but doesn`t glare into the windows.
The apartment is on the fifth floor (third, European designation) and is in the same building as the Renata (2 bedrooms) Vrbo #146091 and Valentina (3 bedrooms) apartments. Total possible guests 17.
Elegance and refinement describe the Zegno apartment. It is large, comfortable and is first class apartment for visitors to Rome who want the 'best of the best' in a vacation apartment. The apartment`s top floor position ensures plenty of light. There are large, handsome windows in the living room, two look towards Via Condotti which goes to the Spanish Steps and two overlook Hotel d`Inghilterra and via Bocca di Leone.
The apartment is entered through a set of double doors. First is a a vestibule where the owner (who does not live on the premises) has a small desk to organize check-in`s and housekeeping. There is a room off the vestibule where the housekeeper, who cares for the Zegno, Valentina and Renata apartments, lives. Straight ahead are the doors to enter the Zegno apartment.
The living room is roomy, with a comfortable sofa and four upholstered armchairs. There is a long antique dining table that will seat eight. There are many beautiful antiques and paintings from the owner`s ancestral home in Puglia. A flat screen TV mounted in the corner receives some English-language news stations.
Next to the living room is a large bedroom accented with Pompeii red walls; the beds can be configured as two twin beds or made up together as a dual-king. There is a large armoire style closet and a handy built-in luggage rack for a suitcase. The built-in bookshelves have an interesting selection of literature and art books.
Down the hallway is a bathroom in creamy marble with a sink, toilet, shower and bidet.
Further down the hall is the kitchen. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the attractive courtyard, filling the room with light. The kitchen has marble countertops, four burner gas stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, small refrigerator/freezer, toaster and coffee maker, dishes, flatware, pots and pans. No microwave.
Off the kitchen is a split bathroom done in white mosaic tiles. One part has a small sink and toilet. The second part has double sinks and a large glass-walled modern shower
Continuing down the hallway is the smallest of the bedrooms; it faces the inner courtyard. It has a twin bed, a small desk, a lamp, plus a sleeping loft with safety rails has a French twin, i.e. large twin mattress. The loft is accessed by a ladder. There is a light mounted on the wall in the loft, handy for reading at night.
The third bedroom is at the back of the apartment, it also faces the inner courtyard. The beds can be configured as two twin beds or made up together as a dual-king. There is a wall of floor-to-ceiling closets and cupboards. Opposite is a small balcony with planters that opens onto the interior of the block with views of several nice terraces and well-gardened balconies.
The en suite master bathroom is also done in light marble. It has sink with good countertop space, a toilet, bidet and bathtub with a shower sprayer that can hook up high on the wall, no door or shower curtain on tub.
The floors throughout are terracotta tiles. Light housekeeping every other weekday except holidays.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2000
The apartment was excellent. The location was perfect with quick access to taxis, shops historical areas, an excellent grocery shop and excellent restaurants.
The owner was a gracious hostess and in her absence was always accessible via cell phone. Nellie, the very capable housekeeper, was reliable and freindly. Yes, I would recmmend this apartment.
we enjoyed our stay. zegno is in a nice part of Rome, minutes from the spanish steps, and the apartment is clean and comfortable. in terms of meeting our greeter, getting into the apartment, etc, everything went as planned. we also met the owner who was extremely nice.
This apartment was great! It was in the perfect spot; just two blocks from the Spanish Steps, Cab stations, shopping, and restaurants. There is a fabulous Café/Bakery just down the street; 4 blocks from a grocery store. Three large bedrooms, with plenty of space to unpack. Thanks for a great trip!
Our adult family greatly enjoyed our stay at Zegno in Rome. We especially appreciated the welcome chat with our hostess, a deeply cultured, knowledgeable Roman woman who kindly introduced us to her city via an hour long chat. Her home is spacious, beautiful and perfectly situated for touring the ancient sites. Italy Perfect staff was most helpful in our planning. We have already recommended them to our friends. Internet service at the apartment is not perfect but adequate for routine needs
We were very pleased with the lovely Zegno apartment on the Spanish Steps. It was a spectacular location. The apartment was spacious, extremely well maintained and immaculate. I am very particular and generally stay in 5 star accommodations. The only knock I had was the owner needs to invest in more luxurious towels and bedding. We never played music on out iPhone once. We simply opened the windows to enjoy violin, jazz or opera. A true Italian experience. One other thing avail yourself of the concierge service available with the apartment. The concierge is a PhD art historian and author of 5 books as well as native Roman will guide you through the best of Rome without hassles and lines. She will focus on you or your family to customize an unforgettable experience which will leave you ready to plan your next trip All in all we had an amazing Roman holiday.
The apartment was very well located and very comfortable. Our family of four had a lot of space in the apartment. We loved the restaurant Ginger nearby recommended by the owner. We used the guide Christina recommended by Italy Perfect and found her superb. We used her for touring the Vatican and the Ancient Rome. We would 100% recommend Italy Perfect to friends who want to locate an apartment in Rome. Many thanks.
We thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful apartment. The location and neighbourhood could not be better. Charming Edgard was completely unobtrusive yet always available if we needed anything. We would stay with you again when next in Rome.
