LUX BERLIN 2 is on the 4th floor of a beautifully restored art-nouveau building with elevator access. Its impressive 2-metre high windows offer superb views over the Oderberger Strasse. This bright 65sq.m. apartment has a spacious living room with an elegant sofa (converts into a comfortable queen-size bed) and a large, extravagant bedroom with a black leather bed. The two rooms are connected through a 3-metre high double-wing door which gives a very open feel to the space. The apartment has high ceilings and original hardwood floors, accentuated by partly exposed brick walls. It features a completely remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower and rain shower and a stainless steel kitchen with SMEG Italian-design electrical appliances. It has a 32'' flatscreen TV, dvd/cd player & WiFi. Amenities include an espresso machine, a microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and a floor fan for the summer. Crisp white linen and towels offer a hotel-style touch to this stylish boutique apartment.

Prenzlauer Berg Haven

Lena's apartment is a tastefully renovated apartment in a quiet family orientated suburb of Berlin. The bed was extremely comfortable, linen crisp and property spotless. Prezlauer Berg is a mix of pre-war architecture, funky cafés, restaurants and an abundance of street art all outside your door. The historical landmarks are all within a easy walk. We could not fault Lena's apartment or her clear communications via email. Property comes highly recommended.

Clean design, great location, all you need for a perfect getaway!

We stayed four nights at Lux2 and it was perfect. The location is very lively and in a true neighborhood, not at all touristy. The block is very wide and full of activity but not loud, and there is a charming park you can see out the kitchen window, with youngsters at play. The apartment is large, clean, minimally furnished, and very light -- a balm to return to after a busy day of walking or biking around Berlin and its many attractions. Kitchen had all the equipment we needed, and a grocery within a few blocks allowed us to stock up on the first day and enjoy food in as well as out. Bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious and the shower very comfortable. Access to the U2, the central underground line that runs through Berlin with stops near most sights, is within two blocks. I would return to this apartment in a heartbeat!

Beautiful apartment in great area

Very modern apartment, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. Had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Huge bedroom, huge bed, nice linens. Great area with many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, galleries. Very close to the metro and the tram. Minutes to the city center. Very good communication with the owner before and during our stay, flexible late check-out. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and we hope to return!

Great apartment but not too clean

Although we really liked the layout and location of this apartment, it was not too clean upon our arrival. Both the armoir and dresser in the bedroom had a lot of hair and dust inside. We were too disgusted to store our clothes here so we just had to lay them out on top of the dresser and leave the rest in our suitcases. Also, one of the pillow cases had a large brown stain on it. When we wrote to Lenna about this, she apologized and made excuses, but nothing more. She should've at least knocked off the cleaning fee for us, but unfortunately she didn't think that was necessary. It's really a shame because it's a truly beautiful apartment in a wonderful location, but because of the lack of cleanliness we won't be returning, nor would we recommend it to anyone we know.

Owner's Response: In the interest of transparency, I would like to mention that this review was submitted in October 2012 for a 5-day stay completed in early August. In these 2 months the guest has repeatedly threatened me with a negative review if they don't get the cleaning fee back. I leave any conclusions to the reader. To come to the subject of the review, my apartments are serviced by a professional cleaning company who has several employees. The cleaning person who was working on the day the guest arrived obviously neglected to look inside the closets, which was of course a mistake for which I have, in my turn, complained to the cleaning company and ensured that won't happen again. The sheets and towels are being washed and ironed at a professional laundry. Sometimes the laundry machines leave yellowish-brown stains on the linen; the cleaning personnel has instructions to exchange any linen that comes back from the laundry with such stains. Unfortunately 1 of the 4 pillowcases the guest was supplied with had a laundry-machine stain that was overlooked by the cleaning person. This was also a mistake that shouldn't have happened and I have made sure that the cleaners are well aware of it. These are not "excuses", as the guest writes in her review, but facts. I have naturally apologized to the guest for the shortcomings of the cleaning person that day and very strongly complained to the cleaning company. By the guest's own admittance, the apartment was in all other aspects perfectly clean and to her satisfaction. For this reason I found her demand to have the cleaning fee returned unreasonable and the blackmailing tone of her emails clearly inappropriate.

Perfect stay!

We had a perfect stay! The apartment was excellent, very stylish and clean, it really made us feel so comfortable there. Great bedroom, great bathroom and a great, well equipped kitchen - everything that anyone can need. It has also a great view from the window, the wonderful Oderberger Strasse with its beautiful shops and street life. It is in the centre of the best area in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, with its excellent night life. Plus, it is the perfect location if you don't have a car, it has all means of transport. We had a perfect communication with Lenna and she gave us the best recommendations for day and night. It will be definitely our choice again the next time we are going to visit Berlin. We highly recommend it!

The Oderberger Strasse, often called the 'hippest' street in Berlin, is a beautiful, wide street right on the limits of Mitte & Prenzlauer Berg. The apartments are located between the Kastanienallee with its myriads of bars, restaurants and coffee shops -among which the renowned Prater, Berlin’s oldest beer garden- and the Mauerpark with its very popular Sunday flea market. The entertainment complex of the Kulturbrauerei is just around the corner, as well as the Kollwitzplatz with its fine wining and dining (and, of course, shopping). Berlin landmarks such as the TV Tower or the Museum Island are a leisurely stroll. This is an ideal base for exploring Berlin: right in the heart of the city but quieter than touristic Mitte and charming day or night.
