The cottage features a thatched porch entrance, which leads straight into a comfortable sitting room with lots of 'olde worlde' features including an inglenook fireplace, flagged floors, beams and a pretty window seat. There is a two seater sofa and two arm chairs.
The well equipped fitted kitchen features antique pine wall and floor units, a window seat and appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and automatic washing machine.
The shower room features a good size modern shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.
Winding stairs lead to the first floor, where all the bedrooms overlook the pretty garden and countryside. The large main bedroom features a double bed, unusual chimney breast feature and window seat. Bedroom 2 is a good size room with twin beds and a window seat. Bedroom 3 has a single bed, window seat and a cot.
Children and pets welcome. Sorry no smokers. The prices include electricity and central heating, but guests must bring their own linen and towels. Pets are welcome with careful owners.
There is private off road parking for one car. The fully enclosed front garden is attractive with a lawn fruit trees, rambling roses and honeysuckle. Patio with herb rockery and cast iron garden furniture. There is a large hedged paddock adjoining the cottage.
Branscombe is set in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' in East Devon just east of Sidmouth. It is a scattered village of unusual character. Charming houses of cob and thatch are sited irregularly on the steep wooded slopes of the combe, which widens towards the sea. Lyme Regis to the west is a pretty coastal town made famous in the 'French Lieutenant's Woman'. Whilst Honiton is 7 miles away and a great place for clotted cream and antiques. The beaches are unspoilt with wonderful walks on the Devon Coastal Path. This is now part of the Jurassic Coast and a World Heritage Site.
