Villa 11 persons, private swimming pool, on Etna slopes panoramic site

We stayed in the house with a group of 11 friends in the first week of july 2010. When we arrived, the owners gave us a warm welcome. There even were a couple of bottles of Prosecco (italian champagne) in the fridge as a free welcome gift! We have had a great time at the house and in sicily in general.

The overall quality of the house is very good. The best part of the house is, according to all of us, the exceptionally big and clean pool and very big and well maintained garden with many sunbeds. The house itself is big and has many nice bedrooms (3 upstairs all equiped with airco, the ones downstairs do not have airco but it is not necessary). It also has a good kitchen with a big fridge. The only things that can be improved are the bathrooms. They are clean and are big enough, but quite old fashioned.

We have had great value for money here and in a couple of years we may return. The town of Zafferana etnea is not the best place to visit, but there are good supermarkets and pizzeria's for your supplies. The neighbourhood is calm and you can take a swim at night without complaints of noise from the neighbours (which you don't see because of the big garden:-p).

According to us, taormina and mount etna are the nicest spots in the area (you must have seen them both). The top of mount etna is visible from the garden. During our stay the sky was clear in the morning, but evereday at about 11, the top of the mountain gets very rapidly covered with clouds. Very nice to see. This does not affect sunshine at the villa though. From the garden you also have a very nice view towards the sea.

I recommend everyone to visit sicily. When you do so: rent a house/villa. And pick this villa, I don't think you can find a better one for just over 2000 eur (summer 2010), seriously!!!
