An enticing example of a traditional stone built, medieval village house - renovated throughout to provide a stylish and comfortable home, equipped to a very high standard, and laid out over two floors. One of the 'Perfection for Two' group of quality rental homes, the house is very quietly situated, with absolutely no passing traffic - but with parking within a short stroll on a nearby Square (adjoining which are two excellent local restaurants). Also within walking distance are bars, cafes, restaurants, canoeing, river swimming and fishing. The house is very comfortably furnished and equipped, with satellite TV (in both the sitting room and the bedroom), wi-fi internet, and free international phonecalls. French doors open directly from the Bedroom onto a south facing, private decked terrace, equipped with sun-loungers, tables and a large sun umbrella. Bliss! The garden is also a sun-trap - attractively paved, with flower borders, terracotta containers, and garden furniture
Parking: There is easy, unlimited parking on the adjoining Square - a short walk from the house. For unloading purposes, you can bring your car up to the property if required.
Restaurants: There are two excellent restaurants within a short stroll of the house, and further restaurants and a riverside bar at the base of the village, providing you with an outstanding setting literally alongside the majestic river Dordogne - overlooking the extraordinary confluence where the River Vézère flows into the Dordogne, and where the 'gabarre' riverboats used to moor up to unload. Here you will also find a variety of small shops and artisans, including a local fruit & vegetable producer, a talented jewellerer working in silver, a glassblower, and - of course - an estate agent!
Rental Management: The locally resident English advertiser is managing the holiday renting of this private home on behalf of the French owners. We will be pleased to supply route information from Bergerac airport or any other location - and assistance with any query regarding your holiday in Dordogne (including golf courses, horse riding, canoeing, country walking etc.).
A lovely house quietly situated in this beautiful medieval village.
Having the owners restaurent, Au Bon Acceuil, nearby was a real bonus, not only for the food, which was very good, but also for their cheerful and helpful presence.
We really enjoyed our stay and rated this one of our best holidays in France - and we have had a good number! The wonderful September weather helped as well!
We know the area quite well but have usually stayed in hotels or chambres d'hotes. The house was so good that we are thinking of trying another of the houses in the group.
It is not often that the wine glasses in a rented property are of such good quality! We liked them so much that we visited the glass blower down near the river and bought some to take home!
We would thoroughly recommend this peaceful and restful place.
We had a lovely week staying in this charming village house. It was very clean and spacious with two outside areas, one very private. Limeuil is a quiet old village with two restaurants, one being Au Bon Acceuil (which the owners own, very good). There are a couple more down by the picturesque river, within a very steep walking distance!. The owners also provided a very useful information guide, they thought of everything! A very relaxing and romantic location.
We stayed here for a week in this lovely little maison. It was exactly as described on the website. It was really lovely and the layout with the bedroom downstairs kept us really cool at night. The secluded decking area off the bedroom was particularly enjoyable as it got the sun all day. We loved the electric bed and the bathroom was also really spacious and beautiful. The owners' restaurant Au Bon Accueil, a short walk away from the house was simply outstanding - the food and friendly service was superb. We would highly recommend this lovely little house in this charming village for a relaxing and romantic holiday for two.
What a delightful little house in a beautifully unspoilt and very quiet village. We found it to be exactly as advertised, with no hidden surprises.
The owners of the house also own and run a restaurant called Au Bon Acceuil, which is a minute's walk away and also highly recommended. It was so good that we ate there every evening of our week's holiday.
My husband and I chose this house for our last of three weeks in France and it was exactly as described and shown. The kitchen is particularly well equipped. We were able to enjoy both the upper and lower terraces. Limeuil is a small, very picturesque village and absolutely quiet. The house is in the upper section of town and just steps from a lovely arboretum/park and the owners' restaurant. Nearby markets, medieval towns and the beautiful countryside provided plenty of sightseeing, hiking and of course, amazing food and wine. Owners were available nearby and their restaurant is stylish, yet casual...so don't miss it. The booking process was very attentively handled by their agent. Overall, an excellent experience!!
A lovely small house in a picturesque village. Comfortable and spacious - just right for two. A well fitted kitchen . The garden space was generous and clean. Also a secluded patio off the downstairs bedroom - we particularly liked the adjustable bed - very comfortable. Limeuil itself is a lovely village with the owners restaurant minutes away. Many other eating places within easy driving distance, lots of recommendations in the information pack. It was a delightful place to stay.

The village of Limeuil is officially listed as 'Un des Plus Beaux Villages de France' - one of the most beautiful villages of France - a stone-built medieval fortified village clinging to the hillside which rises up from the spectacular confluence of the rivers Dordogne and Vezere. Still known as the 'Port', this great expanse of water presents one of the loveliest settings in the whole of the incredible Dordogne valley region. The village is ideally placed for easy access to all the historic attractions - including the prehistoric caves, medieval chateaux, the renaissance city of Sarlat, the bustling centres of Bergerac and Perigueux - and the golden-stoned villages and farms whose produce is sold at the numerous markets that are such a feature of this region.
