This lovely hillside villa with stunning views from the sea facing balconies and terraces is just 10 minutes walk from the beach at Almirida with its lively water sports centre. The spacious interior is furnished to a high standard and sleeps 6/8 comfortably. On the ground floor there is large living/dining area with a terrace overlooking the patio and pool. The kitchen is fitted with an American sized fridge, washing machine and dish-washer. There is a downstairs bedroom with double bed & large shower room with toilet and basin. The accommodation upstairs comprises master bedroom with double bed and guest bedroom with two single beds. The bathroom has an attractive corner bath, large shower, basin and toilet. The basement doubles as a 4th bedroom & has a table tennis table, with plenty of space to play. A weekly linen change plus pool maintenance is included in the rental. Car hire, including airport pick-up, can be arranged on request. Outdoor BBQ is also available.

Crete is the largest and southernmost island in Europe. It is blessed with a fabulous climate (on average 320 days sunshine and the longest summer in Greece) plus fantastic scenery. Rugged snow-capped mountains, sparkling azure sea and 'blue flag' beaches combine to make Crete an ideal holiday destination. Villa Julanda is close to the centre of the charming village of Plaka, which is perched above the lively seaside resort of Almirida which is only a 10 minutes walk away. Plaka has several family friendly cafes, tavernas and shops. It is a short drive from the airport and the charming Venetian harbour of Chania with its bustling bars, restaurants and market.

Have to agree with everything all of the previous reviewers have posted in terms of convenience and accessibility, but where this place really shone was in the diversity of people it would appeal to. Took my family there (2 young kids 3 and 6) and it was just perfect. Immaculate 3 storey villa, all equipped and decorated to the highest standards - plenty of room to sleep 8 (comfortably) and a gorgeous pool that caught the sun throughout the day. The kids loved the games room downstairs - especially the table tennis table, and despite the daily 38 degree temperatures the bedrooms were still cool enough in the evenings to sleep comfortably at night. The local taverna were within easy ealking distance and catered perfectly to families - good quality and exceedingly cheap (we thought). So that's the family side taken care of - but also I think this place would provide the perfect launch pad for a "lads" or "hen" week away, which is what I'm planning if I canget a pass from the above at the end of the summer. The neighbouring villages, 5 min cab ride away had numerous bars and restaurants that would looked packed with a great diversity of fun seekers - far enough not to be noticed by families, close enough to be within easy reach of those in the know. All in all - as the title says I reckon this place to be just about perfect for pretty much everyone looking for a week or two in the gorgeous Crete sun.

Best holiday villa ever rented

The past 5 years we are renting a villa with private pool and each time on a different location ( Mallorca, Provence, Lesbos, Turkey), this is definitely the best we ever got. In fact we have already decided to go back next summer. The villa is perfectly located (fantastic views, very quiet, 5 minutes stroll to the village restaurants,...) and has western europe comfort (all is very clean and functioning correctly); it is much nicer than what we expected from the pictures on the website.
As we are two families with each too daughters (ages 10 to 15), we also appreciated the space and possibility for some privacy; both floors have their own bathroom and large balcony. Not to forget the pool, which everybody loved, in size and cleaness.
Alltough the kitchen is very well equiped, we didn't bother cooking, as one can eat (and drink) extremely well (and cheap) at the yellow-painted restaurant in Plaka village : the owners, Fotini and Pantelis, are just heavenly people.
Rent a car, as there are soo many beautiful things and countryside to see in a radius of 50-60KM, but mind you that it is all mountaineous, so there are bends every 100m. For the beach and shopping, we highly recommend Kalives (at 5 KM); great beach, much space, quiet, full of "lazy" tavernas and restaurants and great surf.

An extraordinary nice evperience

The villa is located in a small village about 75m above sea level. The nice sandy beach of Almyrida can be reached by foot at a distance of 1,1km, though the walk back to the villa is steep and hot during summer. The area offers several good inexpensive restaurants. Of these we preferred the Taverna Estiatopio in Almyridia and Taverna Elpis in Plaka, not to mention the “Octopus” taverna Obrigialos in a small bay about 6 km away. At Obrigialos the water is crystal clear and ideal for snorkeling.
The owner’s description of the house is accurate, and the “stunning views” from the villa terrace is really breathtaking beautiful all day round, a real pleasure.
The property including the pool was clean and well maintained. The owner and the service personal were very nice and helpful.
Our over all impression of the stay was extraordinary nice, and the villa is already recommended to several friends.

Villa Julanda was an excellent choice for our Cretan vacation! We were 7 adults of various ages, with two rental cars and ten days to explore the island. The villa provided us with a central home base and we took advantage of the kitchen and outdoor dining table. Most of our best meals were eaten as we watched the sun set from the patio talking about our various adventures.

Its central location between Hania & Rethymno meant easy travel in any direction. We explored Knossos and the countryside around it, plus Elafonisi and Falasarna on the south-west coasts. The pool provided a respite for those who didn't want to travel too far on any one day. And some of us really appreciated being able to walk into Almirida and further into Kalives!

The villa was clean and well maintained and suitable for 7 adults. We had no problems at all and would highly recommend it to anyone at all. Thanks Julian & Mandy!

No issue , I will recommend this villa to my best friends . I would like to go back there another time .
The villa is beautiful , the view is wonderful , the owner is very Helpful , also the lady who takes care of the house in Crete in their absence . Everything was fine , was nice , I didn't feel let down .
