Doesn’t matter if you want to work in calm or just to take a rest: You will feel well in this apartment (self-catering): sunny, quiet, a lot of green nature around - and in the middle of the city. When you go out of the large courtyard, you can see the big city. Bars, restaurants (Augustiner!), very good food shops and supermarkets are nearby. The tram stops in front of the house and takes you in a short time to all points of interest in the city. In 5 minutes you will be at the main station or in Stachus, and after 5 more minutes at Marienplatz, with the cathedral, Theatinerkirche. Odeonsplatz, Residence with gardens, (entrance to the English garden), National Theatre etc. The tram (S1until S8) takes you to many destinations apart from Munich: as Dachau, Freising, the Starnberger Lake or the Ammer lake. And the subway is easily reachable as well, it will take you in a few minutes to Schwabing, to the Prinzregententheater or to the Messe (Exhibitions hall).
Thank You for having such a wonderful apartment for us to enjoy. The apartment was very clean and spacious the beds were very comfortable plenty of hot water for showers. the location was great the tram stop was right in front of the apartment to take you to downtown munich and there is a parking space if you have a car. there is an elevator that drops you off right at the door of the apartment.
This is a nice, clean, roomy apartment. There are three separate bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms (our girls stayed in each) are separated by a couple of doors, so if they need quiet to go to bed, you are in luck. There are two full bathrooms, one with just a shower and the other with a tub/shower. There is a large balcony on the back that looks out on to the garden areas of the downstairs neighbors. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware, and pots for us. There is a washer and two large racks for drying.
The apartment is tucked back off of the main street which made it nice and quiet. There were lots of children playing and it felt like a safe area. The nearest grocery store (Lidl) was down the road a bit, but we did notice a beautiful new market opening up a little closer (Tengemanns). The S-bahn isn't too far. The trolley stops right outside of the apartment complex.
We ate at the small bakery closest to the apartment and had Döners right around the corner. Both were very good.
The landlord was very nice to deal with and helpful with questions that we had. I have no reservations recommending this property!
Thank you for your hospitality!
This apartment was very comfortable and spacious. We had a family reunion in Munich and needed space that felt like home, rather than a hotel. My two adult daughters , son-in-law and baby granddaughter all stayed for a week. The layout of the apartment is such that it seems to be almost 2 separate apartments. There are doors separating two bedrooms from the third, effectively blocking any sound that my grandbaby might have made waking at night. All the rooms are modern and clean. We prepared family meals in the kitchen ( with dishwasher- a big help!) and ate dinner together in the dining area where the family gathered every evening- ( a total of 7 adults and 2 babies). There is a washing machine as well and plenty of heat as needed. The building is set back away from main traffic - so it is very quiet, yet it is close to everything. There is a tram and the subway a block away, a nice coffee shop a minute away. .There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and churches nearby. We hope to come back soon!
I stayed in this apartment with 5 other family members (all adult women) for 5 days while we visited Munich. The apartment was great! It came with a parking space, which was perfect for when we rented a car. It had wifi, which is a plus. And an elevator, which was so convenient with luggage!
The rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable, although one of the beds kind of fell apart the first night - the metal frame had been bent and my cousin kept falling through the frame with her mattress. The good news about that is that the pull-out sofa bed was very comfortable and that is where she wound up sleeping for the remainder of the week.
The two bathrooms were very clean and everything worked well. The kitchen was well-equipped with new fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. We were a little short on dishes and glasses, but Iris did give us a few more glasses when we asked.
The only complaint we would have is about the neighbors. The walls were very thin, apparently, and any time we had a conversation after 9:00 p.m. they would bang on the ceiling! One night, they came at 10:00 to complain that they couldn't sleep because we were so loud. Now, we were having a normal volume conversation, AND were on vacation! Just something to keep in mind if you are planning on talking to the people you're with after 9:00 p.m. And while we were trying to sleep we could hear a crying baby quite often.
But the location of the apartment is great - good restaurants (and you are given a little binder with directions to the good ones), little shops, very close to the train station and trams, and the AUGUSTINER beer hall was the best! We definitely enjoyed our stay here, overall.
Jederzeit wieder !Henning Behr , Bonn
The apartment is located on Westend, the new fashion district of Munich, with its renovated old houses, many bars, cafés & restaurants, original shops & art galleries. After a 10 minutes walk you will find the 'Augustiner' with probably the best beer of Munich (many say the best of world). The Oktoberfest is just a couple of steps away. If you are looking for a playground for your children, you should go to the Georg-Freundorfer-Platz, which has been elected as the best playground in Germany. Nearby is located the 'Verkehrszentrum' (the German Museum of Transport) a district office of The German Museum, where you will experiment everything about car & train development. Really recommendable! Close to it is the idyllic Bavaria Park, a green calm oasis in the middle of the city, where you could see birds and squirrels. Just one more bus stop (Nr 53) is the entrance to the Westpark, one of the most beautiful Parks of Munich, with its lakes, Hills, beer gardens and Asiatic temples.
