Great Cottage! Perfect location

We just spent one week on Balboa at the back cottage and it was such a great week. The cottage was perfect for our family. We traveled with three young children, ages 2,5,and 7 and they didn't want to leave. The location is perfect. Two blocks to the main street and one block to the water. We used the kayaks numerous times during our stay and the kids loved it. Its a perfect little beach cottage. The decor is pretty outdated and the place could use a fresh coat of paint, but none of those things affected our enjoyment of the place. We enjoyed the rustic cottage feel and didn't need to worry about the kids ruining furniture or anything like that. We rented the back cottage and it worked out great since there is a gate that closes over. You get a parking space right in the back, but we chose to park on the street when we could and used the whole back area as a yard for the kids. They were able to go in and out of the house and rode their scooters in the back. It is a little noisy as you are right on the corner of Park which is a main road through the island. But again, didn't bother us at all.
Overall we had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to return to this cottage. Our kids literally cried when we left!
