We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children .
We had one and a halve day to spent at Majore area .
We had several plans , however when we entered the place all of us decided to stay there . The atmosphere is really like in a paradise with small waterfall under our flat.
It is very different from other places we were .
We walked in the surrounding forest next day and rest of the time just enjoyed being there.
We intend to come there with our friends next year .
We spend a lovely week in Cascina Boretta with our two children (2.5 3.5 years old).
From the first moment Matteo and Simona made us feel like we are truely at home.
The apartment was clean, cozy and very well equipped, and we still miss the constant sound of the stream right beneath our window.
Matteo and Simona supplied us with plenty of information regarding traveling, and many useful advices.
During the week we've enjoined the lovely garden, picked fruits and vegetables with lovely Sofia and explored the forest sounding the property.
All and all it's the warmest loveliest place for a quiet vacation,
Eshel & Urit Gordon
Me, my wife and my 2 sons spent 1 week in this beautiful house. Nice surrounding, far away from traffic and other noise, and lots of great things to see within reasonable distance. Ask Matteo (the host) for tips, he has lots and lots of them!
About the hosts:
These warmhearted people provide hospitality and service in the true meaning of the word! Extremely rare nowadays, but believe me: It still exists!
You are allowed to browse through their garden with fruit and vegetables, pick anything you like and use it in your kitchen! You want to make an apple pie but you can't find a baking pan? Just ask and you will have one within the hour.
Try making your own pizza in the oven in the beautiful and large garden. Matteo will tell you how it works.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in the north of Italy / Lago Maggiore area, this is really the place to be!
We had a wonderful time here! We only stayed for five days, but I wish it had been longer. Matteo and Simona are very friendely and helpful and provide you with everything you need and inform you about everything you want to know, like places to go, restaurants, beaches, walks, things to do etc.
The garden is stunning, with a beautiful view, a little stream running beneath the bedroom window, and every kind of fruit you can think of - and you're free to pick and tatse is all . Our daughter really loved that! And our dog loved running around the garden. It is a wonderful place for people who like to stay in a quite and beautiful place surrounded by nature - while at the same time the lakes and more touristy places like Stresa an San Giulio de Orta are really close.
In one word: superb!
Our family (2 adults and baby (1,5 yrs)stayed at the Leonardo app for a week in September.
The apartment was clean and well maintained. There are two large bedrooms; one with a dubble bed, the other one with two bunk beds. A large bathroom with a shower. The sitting room /kitchen is a bit smaller. The balcony is very nice and you can enjoy the evening sun! There is also a guest washing machine!
The garden is amazing! It is so large and diverse. We really enjoyed the fresh fruit and vegetables. We still miss the smell (and taste) of the sweet strawberry grapes! We made pizza in the outdoor oven…….fantastic! Our son loved the little stream running beside the villa. Throwing rocks in the pond was his favorite activity!
Cascina Boretta is well situated. All the interesting places are just a short drive away. A car is recommended. There is a large supermarket nearby( walking distance).
The host, Matteo, and his family (Simona, Sophia and Ankor) are very friendly, very helpful (thank you!) and make you feel right at home. Even now, our son still talks about Sophia and every with every dog he sees he says Ankor, Ankor! We would recommend Cascina Boretta to everyone !
I stayed here with my family (wife and 3 yr old daughter and 7 mth old son) for two weeks in the summer of 2010.
The apartments are well maintained and have been modernized. The showers are smaller than what I am used to but manageable. Both apartments do not have a bathtub which may be a consideration for babies. Matteo was kind enough to share the tub they had in storage which helped. The smaller apartment can be a bit cramped if you are stuck inside with two little kids on a rainy day.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the garden and grounds. We picked berries every morning to have for breakfast. Used many of the vegetables from the garden for our meals as well. The tomatoes were fantastic for making caprese salad which we had nearly every day. We used the stone oven to bake pizza's which is always fun for the kids and tasted great!
The stream running beside the villa was a delight to listen to every day. Such a soothing sound to fall asleep to and wake up to in the morning. We went for a dip in the pond behind the villa which was refreshing on a hot summer day.
The location of the villa works well as it is 15-25 minutes from Arona, Stresa, Lake Orta, and many other places that we did not have time to visit. The Eurospar at the bottom of the hill is half a kilometer away. There is a cafe, pharmacy, gelato shop, shoe store, and kids clothing store in the same complex as the Europar. The fresh fish from Lake Maggiore that Eurospar sells is excellent.
Matteo and Simone were wonderful hosts and their daughter Sophie was a doll. I would encourage people that are interested in staying here to do so as I think the property will only improve over time as they put more time and energy into it.
Welcome to the land of seven lakes (Maggiore, Orta, Mergozzo, Varese, Como, Lugano, Monate…)!!!
Particularly favoured by a mild climate, Lake Maggiore is a highly sought after tourist destination; on its shores many are the localities of international renown that are to be found, among which Arona, Belgirate, Stresa (which a modern cableway connects to the ski slopes of Mottarone), Meina, Baveno Verbania and Cannobio. Cruising the lake with modern boats and fast hydrofoils is a very developed activity.
You will have the possibility to discover the wonderful landscape of the Maggiore Lake with its Bella, Madre and Fishermen Islands, and the beautiful Orta Lake with its San Giulio island. Moreover, in maximum half an hour by car, you will reach Val d’Ossola and Val Sesia, two wonderful Alpine Valleys around the Rosa Mountain (4.634 m high) with many walk and ski areas.
