The holiday region Eifel

The Eifel, the mountains between the cities of Aachen, Cologne, Koblenz and Trier attract through their scenic diversity.

In the south there is a lush-green and lovely hilly landscape, in the impressively flower-decorated homesteads, bizarre rock formations and wild waters describe the scene.

In the north, wide forests and untouched moor in a rough mountainous area, romantic cities with medieval half-timbered architecture and impressive burgs.

In the middle of the chain of the volcanic cone and underground maar, rare orchids and meagre juniper, natural mineral springs and countless villages. It is not a mountainous region that you know if you know a section.

The history of the Eifel is extremely diverse as well. A lot of people and cultures have left their traces here over the year. A treasure of impressive burgs, castles, monasteries and churches remind of the leadership of the past centuries. Picturesque villages and small cities enchant with their half-timbered houses and town fortifications.

Excursions and attractions in the Eifel

The Eifel offers a lot of excursions in NRW and Rhineland-Pfalz: Different people and cultures have left their traces in this low mountain range in Germany over the years. A treasure of impressive burgs, castles, monasteries and churches remind of the leadership of the past centuries. Picturesque villages and small cities enchant with their half-timbered houses and town fortifications.

The Nürburgring is a living legend as a race track and is named the 'Green Hell“ by its reverential fans. It is now one of the most traditional and simultaneously innovative motor sport courses in the world. And one of the most popular national monuments in Germany.

Countless visitors experience around 100 races and 200 other events every year like Formula 1, DTM, 24h races, Rock am Ring and the truck and old-timer races

The Eifel has a lot of great natural and cultural spaces. While hiking in the Eifel, you can experience and enjoy the diverse nature and connect positive effects for body, mind and soul in a unique way. The hiking paths in the Eifel offer: Wonderful views, complete guides, different landscape forms and snaking paths...

Cycling tours in the Eifel: Get in and bike away

Whether a bicycle tour on the Ahr, a Mosel-Eifel bicycle tour or a Rhine-Eifel bicycle tour, a bicycle tour in the NRW-Eifel or in the Rhineland Palatine Eifel - the Eifel offers the fitting bicycle tour for everyone.

The scenic beauty of the Eifel surrounds the cyclists through a complete network of wonderfully built bicycle paths.

All paths are uniform and completely marked and tourist information panels tell of the attractions on the path.

The tour selection is nearly unlimited: Special highlights are the thick network of bicycle tours on shut-down railway lines, sometimes the bicycle tours also go along the rivers and streams and sometimes over the wide flat areas with picturesque views, the so-called Eifel-views. Along the way, you will find bicycle friendly gastronomy, bicycle rental and shops – places where service quality is written with capital letters.

Winter in the Eifel – go out in the snow!

During the winter, the Eifel is particularly beautiful with snow.

Whether sledding, cross country skiing or downhill skiing - the small ski regions of the Eifel have a lot of benefits for winter sport fans: short trips, family-friendly atmosphere, cosy lodges, inexpensive lift prices and great options for sledding.

Natural experience Eifel

If you are looking for experiences in nature, Eifel is the right place. In a region that has countless nature parks, an Eifel national park and a landscape, which has come from water and fire. The extraordinary natural and landscape diversity makes the Eifel a stunning natural experience region.

A good sign if hospitality keeps its promises.

The Eifel as a holiday region has gained popularity and great sympathy. That is thanks to our unique nature. In the Eifel you will find what you are looking for. Honesty, friendliness and service are written with capitalised letters. The quality is natural as well, because it is no secret in the Eifel, but rather EIFEL quality is transparent and is monitored externally and independently.

Prices:

For many, it is extremely annoying: The many attractive offers, which do not make it easy to choose a nice holiday. And after the booking, you find out that a lot of additional costs were charged after the fact. Often you pay more than twice as much as was shown in the offer at the beginning. This is a thorn in the side of the travel industry by many consumer organizations. The Dutch Consumer Protection A.N.V.R. and the German Tourism Association demand that travel companies give their customers price offers in an honest manner.

With the relax-cottage, all utilities are included in the rental price. Transparency and full cost control are already included in your booking! In contrast to other holiday homes and apartments, we do not charge any utilities or fees for final cleaning bedsheets, towels, taxes, sauna usage, water and energy consumption. No expensive surprises after departure!

The recognized spa of Prüm belongs to the German-Belgian Nature Park. The city is located in a mountain area, between 430 and 590m high.

Outdoor and indoor pools in Prüm, Bleialf and Schönecken and tennis courts make sure you are not bored. This is expanded through other attractions like visiting options in the 'Eifel-Zoo” in Pronsfeld and the mines in Bleialf, geological hikes through the Eifel Kalkmulde with its many fossil discoveries.

The new, paved, barrier-free cycling paths on the former train tracks are a special highlight. They go on nearly level paths through the beautiful, natural valleys of the Prüm, the Alfbach (nature preserve) of the Ihrenbach up to the Our (border river) and from here through the Braunlauftal through Meidingen to St. Vith (Belgium). The paths are created in a barrier-free manner on the German side and due to the low amount of declines, they are ideal for families with children, people in wheelchairs and in line skaters.

Golf: Golf has developed into a popular sport. There is also a good selection for golf lovers in the Eifel holiday region.

Even though golfing used to be a secret tip in the Eifel not too long ago, you can nearly speak of a golf region now. A lot of locals have become golfers and more and more tourists play their sport here. No wonder, because the Eifel offers good courses, which were best integrated into the landscape.

In the meantime, many independent golf facilities offer different drives for beginners, advanced and professionals.

Ski: During the winter, the two ski regions 'Schwarzer Mann” and “Wolfsschlucht” near Prüm offer descents, toboggan and cross country options on well-kept slopes and trails.
