Schoorl is not on the sea, but separated from the coast by the widest and highest dunes in the Netherlands. Once collected, the farmers from the sand dunes to mix the clay with it - as in the dunes created large 'sand flats', which are also called climbing dunes. Children in particular have this biggest sandbox in the Netherlands a lot of fun climbing and descending at high ringing.
