If travelers are interested in an off the beaten path Caribbean vacation in the beautiful island of Curacao, we would definitely recommend Bon Bientu, basically a lower level inlaw apartment. The apartment was immaculate upon arrival with a well equipped kitchen, washing machine, free WiFi, cable TV and DVD. The complex has excellent security and we always felt very secure. The beds were very comfortable though the living room furniture was a little less so. The aprartment is near most Curacao attractions including great beaches and Willemstead. The owners, Melanie and Ivo are a real asset. Fluent in several languages, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided directions, recommendations, and great conversations. My family and I are not much interested in sitting on a beach in an isolated enclave. Staying at Bon Bientu gave us the opportunity to really experience all that Curacao has to offer at a very reasonable price. Great activities included swimming and snorkeling, hiking (though it's very hot in the afternoon), museums (especially the Jewish Cultural Museum), floating market in Willemstead. The drive to Westpunt is great and the views are beautiful. It's also fun to drive and explore small villages. Overall, a great experience.
