General:
There are regular markets in the nearby villages of Villefranche, Beaulieu and of course Nice has a world renowned fruit and vegetable market and regular antique markets. Nice also has a wealth of museums, art galleries and an excellent opera house. There are the varied attractions from the Menton music festival to the Monaco Grand Prix, to the film festival in Cannes. For those interested in sailing there are regular yachting regattas in Antibes, Cannes and Monaco. Coastal paths from Villefranche through Beaulieu and St Jean, and then around Cap Ferrat provide wonderful scope for most enjoyable walks with lots of world renowned restaurants and bars making pleasant stopovers. In Villefranche itself quayside restaurants mingle with the colours of local fishing boats and nets. Little wonder it continues to be a favourite with so many artists, writers and other discerning aesthetes.

For those interested in antiques there are around the old port of Nice any number of excellent galleries and markets, and Villefranche hosts a weekly open air antique market on the waterfront. For those who love music there are regular internationally renowned music festivals along the Riviera, and of course there are the special attractions of the Monaco grand Prix, the Canne Film Festival, and any number of other sporting and cultural events.
