Villa Elaia is situated in a scenery of immeasurable beauty, dipped in the tranquility of an olive grove, to approximately 500 meters from the centre of the village of 'Santa Maria Di Castellabate' and from the sea.Villa Elaia has eight apartments, three on the ground floor, three on the first floor and two on the top floor. Ground floor and first floor apartments have a surface of about 55 m² and are composed from a double room, a twin-bedded room, American kitchen, dining room with divan single bed, TV/SAT, bath with shower, hair dryer, washing machine, iron. . First floor apartments enjoy a wide terrace with sight sea. Ground floor apartments enjoy a wide private garden. The first of the two top floor apartment is about 60 m² and has two rooms, one bedroom and one dining room with kitchen area, bathroom and one big terrace with a superb sight sea. The second top floor apartment is a studio of about 30 m² with double bed, dining and kitchen area, bathroom and terrace with sight sea.

The property is encircled from a common garden of approximately 1000 m² with a swimming pool, garden furnitures and child's swing. Each apartment has a private parking car.

Apartment Coratina is on the ground floor of the Villa. The apartment has a surface of about 55 m² and has three rooms: two bedroom and one diining room with kitchen area, bathroom and a private garden of about about 80 m². First bedroom has a double bed second bedroom has a two single beds. The dining room has sofa bed, a table for four people and a kitchen area furnished with oven, microwave, toaster, boiler and full cooking utensils . Bathroom has shower, bidet, hair dryer washing machine and iron. The private garden has table for four, two beach chairs and a barbecue. The apartment has a wi-fi internet connection and all rooms are equipped of conditioned air, linen and towels . The property is encircled from a common garden of approximately 1000 m². The apartment has a private parking car.

The perfect place and the best owner Alfonso!

Very comfortable location near the center of Santa Mariya, the property was clean an evryhting was ok. Alfonso the owner provided good service. We will recommend this property evrybody, we were with 3 children and felt very good, very nice territory many flowers. We liked restaurants very much! Alfonso is the best owner and he helped us very much. Thank you and i hope see you next year!

very well kept, equipped and handy location

the owner gave us very good and accurate directions to find the home. it is near to the main coastal road but well back and therefore quiet. we had an appointment at 19:00 with the owner and at 19.00 he arrived. apartment was exactly as described with good clean towels and sheets. apartment was clean. carpark was adequate but if you have a big people mover best park over the other side of the main road, there is a large layby..Or hire a 500!On arrival we were given a bottle of local wine, a litre of milk, 2 litres of water and a chest of jams, nutella, sugar honey and toasted bread. before arriving we did stop at the Conad minimarket at the roundabout but there are 2 despars as well nearby. a flaw.with the flat no CORKSCREW in the flat.. I have my swiss knife so not a problem for us. the flat has a wall safe for your valuables.
Beach is a 5 minute downhill walk, great water and reasonable umbrella prices.
Eating out.We found the Arlecchino to be excellent, Pizza every day except sunday lunch. if you like fish this is the place.
In the town of Castellabate,, famous for the film location, there is the Restaurant Belvedere. Excellent if a bit pricey.
the location is a great place to stay and with safe family beaches.Paestum is nearby and must be seen,Pompei is a fair drive but again must be seen. Mozzarella , cheeses, pizza's, Pastries (sfogliatelle) oil wine and bread... all great.
Ideal and fair priced holiday base. I Recommend this flat and location highly.Its only a 1hr 45 minute drive from Naples airport.

Lovely Italian getaway

On arrival we were met promptly by Alfonso, who was already at the property greeting other guests. He was very friendly and happy to answer any questions and make suggestions for restaurants and activities. Whilst we didn't have to contact him during our stay I got the impression he would be very easy to get hold of if there were any issues. The apartment was very clean and well maintained with a lovely outdoor area - just like the photos. There is also a nice shared garden which was well kept.
The area of Santa Maria was a traditional Italian seaside resort which suited us perfectly. It was very friendly and safe with lots of Italian families while we were there. There were good beaches within walking distance. In the evenings we would walk into town (about 10 minutes) and enjoy the various restaurants and bars. A highlight was hiring a boat for the day from nearby S. Marco - very easy to find on the harbour.
I would definitely recommend this area and apartment to friends. The only issue (for some) is it is on a hill so the walk back can be quite steep and not suitable for everyone - although easy enough to drive it. We appreciated the exercise after all the food!

L'appartamento "Saracena" è al piano terra di un edificio situato in mezzo a un campo di ulivi. E' dotato di molti comfort tra cui la lavatrice, il phon, il forno a microonde, bistecchiera elettrica, ferro da stiro, ecc. Il mare dista circa 500 mt e si può andare anche a piedi, però il ritorno è in salita. Il proprietario è stato molto cortese e disponibile.

Very nice appartment in a lovely small town.

My friends and myself have been renting 2 apartments at Villa Elaia: Coratina (for 2 couples) and Ogliarola (for 1 couple) in August 2013.

Our overall feeling is very positive. Let me summarize our impressions:
1. Santa Maria is a very lovely town with nice architecture, beautiful views, several sandy beaches and delicious food. The see was amazing! The water was so transparent and clean! It was a real pleasure!
2. The Villa is very nice, the photos 100% reflect the reality.
3. Alfonso is a very kind and friendly host – don’t hesitate to ask him about places to visit, cafes and restaurants.
4. Indeed, feel free to rent a car – as there is a parking place available for each apartment!
5. There is also a lovely yard near the Villa to play games, lie on the sun or whatever.
6. For those who cares – WiFi is working well outside, however the connection was very low inside Coratina apartments.
7. Do not forget to visit Castellabate! The view from top worth your efforts to get there (by car prefferably).

Among those things I didn’t fully like (not always connected with Villa Elaia):
1. The way to the Villa is not an easy thing to do as it is on top of the town. So be ready for that. Also, you will be crossing the road and there is no pedestrian crossing at all! The traffic is not very active, but still sometimes we’ve been waiting for 3-5 minutes to cross it. Be careful!
2. Remember about siesta – you will hardly find a place for lunch at 3-7 pm. I thing the only place to eat smth is Lido restaurant which is not far from the beach.
3. Although the beach is quite nice, around 70% of the space out there is a private territory reserved by the hotels. So it’s not so that easy to find a place to stay within 5-10m to the sea. I would recommend to go 500m South from the main beach – there are more public areas.
4. In Coratina one of the rooms has 2 small beds. It might be convenient for some guests, however not convenient for couples. Moreover moving the beds together was not an easy task ;-) We did know that before our trip (see the photos and description), but this might be a helpful tip for the hosts fro future.

Overall, if you decide to go to Santa Maria di Castellabate, small and cozy Italian town, I would strongly recommend staying at Villa Elaia. My personal rating is 4.5 out of 5.
