Photos and Description of the San Miniato vacation apartment rental

The country estate Corniano lies peacefully in the hills around 6km outside of the town. The estate was extensively and lovingly restored by the new owner in 2001. Even the former church has been secularized and transformed into a noble restaurant, which of course is open to the guests of the house. In a panoramic location, there is a large, kidney shaped swimming pool (120m²) and adjoining lawn with sun loungers and parasols. Parking spaces at the house; shops in San Miniato.

This small, mediaeval town lies on the southern fringes of the hills in the lower Arno Valley, halfway between Pisa and Florence. In the middle ages San Miniato was the scene of the tensions between the German Emperor and the Grand Duchy of Florence. The Governor of the German Emperor in Italy lived here, from which the town received its Nickname “al Tedesco”. Today one can still see the fortified structure of the old town around the Cathedral and the “Rocca”, whilst the tower from the time of Friedrich Barbarossa dominates the skyline.

San Miniato lies in an ideal position for trips to the Tuscan towns of historical and cultural interest: Florence is only 38km away, Pisa approx. 35km and Siena 55km. Even the beaches of Versilia are only 45 minutes away in the car.
