Townhome, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-6)

The Nugget is an 800 square foot, two-bedroom walkout just off Main Street in the charming Victorian mountain town of Lead, South Dakota. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has three twin beds.

The Nugget is very clean, fresh, bright and quiet. You'll sleep in comfort, especially with the two air conditioners, four ceiling fans and good mattresses. Your kitchen is fully equipped, and all linens and towels are provided. There's even a washer and dryer. Just bring yourself and settle in!

The Nugget has some nice touches too: a Laz-E-Boy couch with built-in recliners, a separate reclining chair, a large covered outdoor bike and equipment locker, a LARGE 65' X 30' parking area (great for motorcyles, trailers or RV's), and a couple of private outdoor sitting areas. All of this within walking distance of the grocery store, bars, restaurants, the discount store and a great coffee place. There is also a large binder on the coffee table crammed full of information on what to do and see, complete with phone numbers, menus, hours of operation, etc., etc. We think The Nugget is a very good value for your Black Hills vacation dollar (now on special sale...$100 for any nights in June!) and a great base for exploring the Black Hills. But don't believe us. Hear it from those who have stayed at The Nugget---read our reviews below, written by our guests.

You'll be centrally located to all of the fun in the Northern Black Hills: five minutes to the Mickelson Trail spur, a short ten minutes to the casinos of Deadwood, and within 20 minutes you'll be in unbelievably gorgeous Spearfish Canyon with your line in the water fishing for trout!!!

Five minutes to the Mickelson Bike Trail spur, ten minutes to Deadwood, 20 minutes and you're trout fishing on Spearfish Creek! And to keep your workouts going while on vacation there is the new rec center in Deadwood about 3 miles away---very nice.

Great location with ample private parking

We brought a couple motorcycles out in a covered trailer and were very happy with the central location for riding and the private parking area in back that we were able to walk directly to through the back door. The place had everything two riders needed for a long weekend. We also enjoyed a tour of the mining facilities of the mine for which the town is named.

Nice little home away from home

Three of us stayed here on a motorcycle trip. It is a great setup for three or four singles staying together as there were 4 beds. Mattresses were good and we all slept well. Good parking and access to bring your luggage in. We enjoyed the modern bathroom with ensuite washer and dryer. The kitchen is well furnished with large and small appliances and glassware etc. Good coffee maker. Filters were on hand but if you need anything there is a c store just down the front street.
Best of all was the location. You were away from Sturgus , Deadwood , and Rapid city far enough that it was not crowded, and it was a nice ride to visit those places. However, heading out for morning tours was great because you pretty much roll right on to the highways and head for your destination. Good support staff are a call away if you need anything. We highly recommend the Nugget

Excellent Location!

Had a great time while staying in Lead, SD. Rode my Bike from Alabama for the 2012 Sturgis Black Hills Rally. 4079 miles total and almost 800 miles after arriving at "The Nugget". This is a great location to stay during the rally and centrally located to all the attractions you will want to visit!

Great Stay

We couldn't be happier with our choice of places to stay while in South Dakota, Sturgis area. We were centrally located to catch all of the rides we wanted to hit. Everything is there, you don't need to worry about anything, except a can opener (LOL). The parking was great and cooking out was a plus. Thanks for making our vacation memberalbe.

Nugget Stay

I came to Lead to work at the Sanford Lab. I stayed at hotels on other 3 week visits. I needed a place that had the home amenities. There I was looking at VRBO and found the Nugget. I have now stayed there numerous times. The unit is well taken care of, quit, clean, nice parking area and has everything to make life good. It is located in Lead and is close to all the essentials.A very good deal!
