Studio Apartment or guest room for 2 - 6 persons, respectively

We offer a romantic attic-studio on the top floor in a historic canal house in Amsterdam, built in 1607. Because of its nice location close to the Oudezijds Achterburgwal, the attic studio offers a romantic view over the namesake canal and over the roofs of Amsterdam. From the 2 room apartment you can look out over the canal as well, and over the historical canal houses with the typical back garden. In the same house you will find a guest’s room as well, equipped for 2 or 3 persons with a private bathroom available.

Arrival by airplane/train:: From the airport Schiphol by NS regional train to the ‘Central Station'. From there it is an approximately 10 minute walk, or 1 stop by metro to 'Nieuwmarkt'.

Arrival by car, parking: Unfortunately, there are only chargeable parking in Amsterdam.

Our recommendation:

The low prices park+ride parking lot Zeeburg, 6 EUR per 24 h, including a tram ticket for the return to the centre (subject to change).

The romantic attic-studio is located on the top floor in a historic canal house in Amsterdam, year of construction 1607. Because of its nice location close to the Oudezijds Achterburgwal, the attic studio offers a romantic view over the namesake canal and over the roofs of Amsterdam. The studio consists of a large room (50 sqm), that stretches over the entire length of the canal house. It offers up to 6 sleeps. A double bed (that can be turned into 2 single beds on request), a comfortable sofa bed for 2 and a large mattress (1,40 x 2 meter) on a bunk bed in an intermediate attic. Modern mini-bathroom with shower, sink and WC, integrated, well-equipped kitchen unit, large dining table with chairs. The studio is suitable for couples, families or a small tourist party , that does not need separate bedrooms.

Thanks to the very central location, you can discover Amsterdam easily on foot or by bike. To the Amsterdam Main Station, the 'Central Station,' you just have to walk about 10 minutes. The connections for the public transportation are very good (tram, bus, subway, regional train). The Oudezijds Achterburgwal is one of the oldest canals (waterway) in Amsterdam. The Northern part of this canal is located in the lively red light district 'de Wallen', in the Southern, quieter part there is e.g. the Amsterdam university, the listed monument Binnengasthuis and the romantic Oudemanhuispoort (book market). The accommodation is located in the middle of the canal, exactly at that spot where the lively red light district and the quieter, Southern part with the university district meet.

  • The price is 119 euro/night valid for 1 or 2 persons. For occupancy over 2 persons, every additional person will be charged with 20 euro per night. (children between 4 to 12 will be charged 8,50 EUR, for children between 13 to 17 will be charged 12,75 EUR).
  • Special offer for stays over one week: The handling fees are in room price inclusive.
  • Bed linen, Towels and final cleaning are always inclusive.
    During the weekdays the stay must be at least 2 nights, Weekends 3 nights at least.

The historical house 'built in 1607' is as many other buildings Amsterdam, a narrow steep right stairs, (no lift) because of this; it is limited for handicap persons. We stayed in the attic studio apartment which was perfect for two people and quite spacious. The apartment is an easy walk from the central railway station and has an excellent location right in the atmospheric heart of Amsterdam. Restaurants, supermarkets and bicycle hire shops were just a few minutes walk away and it made an excellent base for exploring everything the city has to offer. Even though it was located on the top floor (no lift) we didnt mind the stairs at all as it gave us first hand experience of what it was like living in one of these historic amsterdam houses which in my view is something you cant experience in a modern building. The view of the canal from the floor to ceiling windows was terrific and it was just fascinating to sit there and watch the activity below after a day of site seeing. The apartment was very well maintained, clean, cosy and comfortable. This would definately be my choice of accomodation when i return to Amsterdam in the future.

The First Of What I Hope To Be Many.

I arrived by train and was able to walk and locate the apartment without any problems what so ever. This historic house was wonderful, after entering front door. I was taking to a place in my heart and mind that felt at home. I was able to manage the stair case which made me feel like a kid again along with all the wonder of the past, and thoughts of how they must have lived in this very same home during the 1600's. You are in walking distance from every where you would want to be or see, while visiting Amsterdam and staying at this location. I was able to walk on foot to just about everywhere.
The price can't get any better in my eyes and you will be hard press to find a more affordable place to stay.
