Istanbul Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Extraordinary penthouse in a wooden 19th century building. Our house is located in Kuzguncuk, on the Asian side of the Bosphorus , only a 10 minutes ferry-ride from the centre.
The house was built by a local resident, who worked for the famous Armenian architect Sarkis Balyan. Balyan was in charge of the first Ottoman parliament building, the Ciragan Sarayi and the Beylerbeyi Mosque. Our building, an elegant example of late Ottoman residential architecture, is completely remodelled and has all modern conveniences. It is ideal for long-term stays.
Kuzguncuk is a multicultural neighbourhood with Jewish, Greek and Armenian population. It has two synagogues, two Greek-Orthodox churches and one Armenian church (some of the churches and one synagogue still hold regular services). Many famous architects and artist have in the past years settled in Kuzguncuk. It is a lovely and safe neighbourhood with cafes, bars, restaurants, art galleries.
