From Designer Apart, it is 2 stops to the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, 10min to Friedrichstraße, Museumsinsel - museum island, CheckPoint Charlie, Unter den Linden, Brandenburg Gate & Potsdamer Platz. and approx. 15min to Alexanderplatz, Kreuzberg and the the Main Train Station. Pankow itself has much to offer, above all (East-)German history. The wall, former no-man's-land turned into park, the castle Schönhausen & with Majakowskiring the preferred home of former GDR heads of state ie. Erich Honecker & Walter Ulbricht, the district now attracts actors, musicians & writers. Designer Apartment is located in a small street leading up to a park with 3 cafes and restaurants. Within easy reach are a beer garden, creek, kid's farm, outdoor pool, theatre, music club, shopping centre, specialty shops and supermarkets.
