A stunning luxury villa estate just outside the heat and excitement of Marrakech, in a verdant oasis of calm and privacy. La Pivoine sleeps 4 in two beautiful Moroccan houses, with staff to respond to your every need. Meals, wine and drinks, and airport transfers are included in the rental - it's like an exclusive hotel where you are the only guests. The walled gardens cover 8,500 square metres, with 300-year-old olive trees, a magnificent rose garden, 5,000 square metres of lawns, and a 20m pool with pool house. The main house has large high-ceiling rooms round an internal courtyard and fountain. The master bedroom with king-size bed has two bathrooms and dressing rooms, and home cinema DVD entertainment. The second house has a living room and master bedroom with en suite bathroom, and breakfast kitchen. There is A.C. in both houses. If you only rent one house the other will not be rented, and the whole property will be exclusively yours.

The staff: The friendly staff at La Pivoine ensure the perfect Moroccan experience. Rabia is the caretaker and cook, and lives elsewhere on the property, as does Allal the night watchman. Rabia specialises in Moroccan and French cuisine - she will be full of ideas for what you might like to eat, or you can tell her exactly what you do want. There is a driver to pick you up at the airport, and drop you off there (both are included in the rental rate) who can also act as your taxi-driver around Marrakech or tour guide for the day.

What is included: Included in the rental rates are: - airport transfers by taxi; house cleaning, meal service and laundry; bedding, towels and bath robes; breakfast, lunch and dinner except two dinners or lunches each week to be agreed upon with Rabia the housekeeper; local red, white and rosé wines, and aperitifs (only champagne will be charged extra). If you are only renting the second house, only breakfast is included, and the weekly rate comes down to 1250 euros.

The furnishings and decoration: This is called luxury accommodation, not just because of the grandeur of the gardens and buildings, but also the furnishings and decorations, down to the lighting, bathroom fittings and trinkets. Everything is of the highest quality, designed for a very exacting owner who uses La Pivoine from time to time and does not want to be reminded of the imperfections of the world.

Your very own garden of Eden!

This property lived up to all it said in the property description! We were treated like royalty, in a walled oasis about 12km north-west of Marrakech. 300 year old olive trees punctuated the immaculate lawn adjacent to the beautiful pool area, which included a pool house equipped with a strategically placed drinks fridge. The accommodation is decadent, especially in the main house which has double en-suites! The hospitality shown by all the members of staff was exceptional and Rabia, the head cook, never ceased to amaze us with restaurant quality food on a regular basis. This is a real garden of Eden that we will definitely be coming back to!

Sheer luxury - wonderful host

We rented this property in the autumn 2007 - The house is beautiful, the grounds quite large and peaceful and Rabia and Bouschmael (not spelt correctly) were wonderful hosts even though we only spoke about 10 words of French! They made us feel like a king & queen. They made a special effort to cater for me as a vegetarian, and I think we gained half a stone each with the wonderful variety of food that just kept on coming. Aziz the driver was a great help and looked after us too (though he wasn't cheap we couldn't have lived without his advice!). The swimming pool was icy cold though - which would have been great if the temperature were higher - but maybe not at that time of year. The house is a bit far out - 30 mins to the centre - but for us this was fine as we only wanted to dip our toes in the hustle & bustle of Marrakech - and preferred to stay in this oasis of relaxation.
