Lovely apartment, great spot

Our family of five (two kids plus a grandmother) stayed in this apartment in late October 2011. It was quite lovely and in a very convenient spot, just next to a pedestrian tunnel leading directly into the main "old town" attractions. It took us about 10-15 minutes to walk to the castle, etc. and everything is fairly compact. No cars are allowed in the old part of town, so we were very happy to rent the parking space offered with the apartment and leave the car there, behind a secure gate. The apartment itself was quite spacious, with large rooms and comfortable furniture. Some of the pieces were high-end and really made the apartment feel more special than your ordinary rental. The second bedroom is captive (you have to walk through the first to get to it), though there is a partial wall to provide privacy and we did not find this a problem at all. It's on what Americans would call the third floor, up a lot of stone steps, which might be an issue for some. Internet was provided with an internet-stick, so only one person could access things at a time and it was very slow. Herr Braun was very helpful, providing a map of the city, and meeting us two hours after our original appointed time when we got held up in terrible traffic.
We really liked being so close to everything we wanted to see. We especially enjoyed the Mozart dinner concert and the fortress. Unfortunately, the shops were all closed on the day we wanted to do some browsing -- a midweek holiday of some sort that we never did figure out. We also really enjoyed the salt mine tour in Hallein, about 30 minutes away by car and worth seeing to appreciate the source of Salzburg's wealth.
