Oceanfront Cottage on Maine's Rocky Coast - Pemaquid Pt.

We started renting from from who had a cottage in the area and found ourselves returning year after year. As the kids got older, we thought that we would take our vacations in other places, but after staying at our friends cottage for a few days, we just wanted to come back next year!

We have traveled to other places with the kids, but no place is as special as "New Hahbah!"

We love to just take it easy when we're at the cottage. It's amazing how fast the day goes by while your reading on the porch or on the rocks out front. Watching the sun sparkle on the water in the morning is a treat. After walking up to Rielly's to pick up the paper, we like to relax, drink our coffee or tea and just watch the water just to see what might pop up. (It's even better when you have a Sticky Bun from the Cupboard Cafe!)

Pemaquid Beach is beautiful. We love going to the Bristol Dam Swimming Hole after swimming in the ocean all day. Our kids have made many friends in the area and we all meet at the swimming hole late in the afternoon and stay until the sun is low on the horizon.

We also enjoy campfires on the rocks in front of the cottage. It's particularly nice when there is a full moon coming up over the ocean! On darker nights we bring down blankets and lay on the rocks to watch shooting stars!

New Harbor is just a great place to be! Everything you need is in the area. The people are friendly and most of them are pretty interesting! A lot of them have families that have been in the area for decades at least. Some go back even further! Get them talking and you'll be fascinated for hours.
