Local Transportation:
Local bus service is reliable and extensive. Nbrs 400 and 94 from Vence terminal ends at Nice Routiere, a short walk or bus ride on bus #17 from the main Nice train Station with intermediate stops upon request, including Airport. There is also a Vence - Airport direct bus. There are buses to Grasse, Tourrettes su Loup, Bar sur Loup, St Jeannet and St Paul de Vence. At Nice Airport you can catch buses to Cannes and Monaco. You can take the bus from Vence to Cagnes sur Mer Station close to the A8 motorway and then take the train to all points along the coast East and West and also up to Biot and Grasse. Last buses to and from Vence can finish at about 9.30 pm as this is mostly a commuter route.
Skiing, Walking, Hiking and Cycling:
Vence and the surrounding area is very popular for walkers and cyclists year round. The Tourist office can supply Routes for independent walkers and also runs accompanied walks. The nearest ski resort, Greolieres les Neiges is 40 minutes away behind Vence and the international resorts of Isola 2000, Valberg and Auron are 1.5 hrs drive or by train from Nice Station. Vence - points of interest:
Chateau de Villeneuve, Matisse Chapel, Vence Cathedral with its Chagall mosaic, Emile Hughes Foundation, Chapel of the White Penitents, Nall Foundation (art school) and the many art galleries, artists studios and craft and pottery shops.
Tuesday and Friday morning markets in the Old City and daily morning flower and local food produce markets in Place du Grande Jardin. Wednesday morning is the antique market. July has a two week outdoor music festival - Les Nuits du Sud.

Summer open air concerts in July/August - Les Nuits des Sud. Summer jazz concerts at Juin les Pins, Antibes.
