Remember how it feels to have SAND in your shoes? The fine, white and (almost) endless sandy BEACH of Captiva Island begins right at the door of our romantic Florida cottage. The house has 2 COSY studios and is comfortable for up to 8 people. Coquina is located in a large and colorful TROPICAL GARDEN - a picturesque escape, far away from the hustle and bustle. Our lovingly maintained garden is an oasis under PALMTREES. Read a book in the hammock, grill a fish - or plan on PLAYTIME with your kids. Here, you will enjoy PURE NATURE - on our lonely, private beach and in our nature reserve area with mangrove forests, alligators, sea turtles, DOLPHINS, pelicans and the entire diversity of tropical BIRDS. The picturesque center of the island is just a few minutes away - and GOLF, tennis & shopping are also nearby. Our relaxed paradise Captiva is close to the Everglades (1 hr), elegant Naples (1 hr), Miami (2.5 hrs), Orlando (3.5 hrs) - and the international airport RSW Fort Myers (1 hr).

Our Coquina Cottage is located in the very south of Captiva Island, directly at the (almost) endless private beach. One step out of the door - and you are standing in the fine white sand. The large and lovely tropical garden of our romantic Florida cottage offers a lot of privacy under palm trees. Here, you can relax, read a book or gather family and friends for a barbecue on a warm tropical night. On Captiva and Sanibel you will enjoy pure nature. Our long beaches are protected and truly a paradise for shell seekers, bird lovers and everyone who likes to watch animals. Dolphins play in the surf, sea turtles build their nests on the beach and the nature preserve Ding Darling offers tours through the mangroves. Other attractions are the golf courses nearby and a wide selection of shopping malls.

  • We have both kitchens equipped with everything you need during your holiday - coffee machine, ironing board and iron, fridge with freezer, microwave, stove with oven and a good selection of quality dishes. We also provide our guests with all necessary household goods for their first week: dishwasher, cleaning utensils, paper towels and trash bags. Washer and dryer are available in the lower studio. What about a barbecue on one of our lovely tropical evenings? You will find outdoor grills on both porches - upstairs and downstairs. You just have to catch the fish. If you did so, you will like our shark bar, where you can clean and prepare your catch. This is also the right place to clean your collection of tropical shells that you will find at the beach of Captiva. And finally: If you don't feel like cooking at all, you will enjoy the fabulous restaurants in the historical center of Captiva.... Have a good time!

  • Our guests have the choice: they can rent both studios together or just the studio on the second floor (max. 4 people). The studio downstairs remains free if only the upstairs is rented. Both studios have a large terrace with a spectacular view over beach and garden. Only one step out of the door - and you are directly on the beach... Our Coquina Cottage is colourfully furnished and decorated in the Caribbean style. We have both our bedrooms equipped with specially comfortable quality beds and we also provide high-quality bedsheets and towels. A generous supply of beach towels and beach chairs is available - you only have to bring your bathing suit. Two kayaks in the yard are ready to go and explore the Gulf of Mexico... Radio clocks and hair dryers are part of our equipment. Furthermore, we provide our guests with everything they need for the first days: soap, shampoo and hair care.

Notes: We recently renovated and comfortably furnished our Coquina Cottage. Both studios are colourfully decorated - but the sensation are our outdoors (location! location! location!). Our lovingly maintained tropical garden offers a lot of privacy - you can spend the whole day in the hammock, listening to the surf. We took great care that a generous supply of high-quality beach and garden furniture is available - also beach loungers, a dining area under palm trees, a jacuzzi and two kayaks. Both studios have large wooden porches. From here you have a fabulous view over the garden and the beach. On the upper porch you will find a dining table for four people; on the downstairs porch and in the yard there is space for up to 10 people - for a dinner under palm trees or a long family time. Both our living rooms have comfortable sitting areas and modern flat screen TVs. The studio on the ground floor is wheelchair accessible.
