Pals and surroundings:
The next beach is just a 5 minute walk away. This beautiful sand beach is 10km long and goes from Pals to L'Estartit. Tamariu, Llafranc, Sa Tuna and Sa Riera beaches are only a 15 minute drive away. The historic old town of Pals is also worth seeing. Smaller historic villages such as Begur are also worthwhile. All the villages have restaurants and host weekly typical Spanish markets. Supermarkets are within walking distance and other supermarkets are 3 minutes away by car. An outing to the Pyrenees is an absolute must in the summer. A 1 and a half hour drive will take you back to a wild and romantic area. Thanks to the Pyrenees, Costa Brava has much more to offer than just beaches. An outing to the mountain will be an unforgettable experience for you. The drive that will take you there consists of roads of extremely good condition, no small paths.
Festivals:
From June to August, several festivals such as Palafrugell and San Feliu de Guixols happen in the surroundings. These festivals are absolutely worthwhile and host famous participants. Whether they are rock festivals like in 2008 with Anastacia or Shakira, or top-class ballet shows, piano concerts or Spanish operas with Andalusian horses, there will be something in there for everyone. Ski:
During the winter months, you are just 1 and a half hours away from the winter sports resort Vall de Nuria. You will then have to go up the mountain with the rack railway. Once you arrive at the top, you will be greeted by a frozen lake perfect for ice-skating, and ski slopes of various difficulties, as well as toboggan slopes for the children, at perfectly reasonable prices. Whether winter or summer, this fantastic place is never crowded. We would also recommend the nearby lake of Banyoles or the volcanic zone of Garrotxa, which are extremely nice, even in the summer - you will feel like you have entered into a whole new world.
Golf:
In Pals, you can get exercise, enjoy sports or just relax, all year around. The area's topography and moderate climate make Pals the perfect place to play golf. And all this without long journeys, two golf courses are within reach. The first course is an 18-hole circuit and is located near the sea, and stretches out from a large pine forest covering the dune. The other course, also an 18-hole circuit, was created later and is located between Pals and Torroella de Montgri. And if that wasn't enough, you will find other golf circuits in the surroundings of Pals to practice your sport. And if you wish to begin with this sport, you will also find many Pitch and Putt spots in the immediate surroundings of Pals. Now all you have to decide is whether you prefer to play near the sea or if you'd rather enjoy the Torroella mountain landscapes.
