Puerto del Carmen Vacation Rental apartment: Old Town

We stayed in apartment A5 in September 2009. Our main reason for booking was because the apartment was classed as ‘luxury’ but after our stay we would now class the apartment as ‘average’ for the following reasons-
The bathroom shower did not work properly it was leaking, the main power shower jets did not operate at all. We were left with a mixer shower head as the only way to clean ourselves for our two week stay. This could only be used in one fixed position, if moved it would just fall over. There was a rusty bin in the room and the shower itself was in need of a good clean. We could not open the window catch as it was missing.
The kitchen had a cupboard door that was falling off its hinges, the kettle looked as if it needed replaced, it was chipped, leaking and stained on the outside. Some of the cutlery was rusty, bent or broken.
The bedroom overlooking the street had little storage space as there was a large desk in one wardrobe and a washing machine in the other. A step ladder, heater and ironing board were stored in a corner of this room
The other bedroom had a wobbly bedside table and a cracked lamp base, the furniture was also tired looking.
In the lounge the CD cassette player would not play any discs.
The outside lamps for the front door and one for balcony would not operate and this was really necessary at night.
The towels and sheets had holes in them.
There was also no basic information in the apartment for example where to empty the rubbish, what days the maid was due, who to report faults to etc.
On the whole we felt that the flat was in need of some inspection to make sure that everything was in order for guests arriving.
