The exeeding classy apartment is furnished with antique furniture that point out the shipping tradition of the luxury residence. The apartment is very peacefully located in a picturesque one-way street in the city and has 2 small terraces with a view of the sea and the surrounding roofs, and a small balcony with a view of the charming garden. The apartment has 2 separate entrances on the ground floor. One leads to a bedroom and two bathrooms at the groundfloor. Through the other, you can get to the first floor through a stairwell. Here is the kitchen, from which you can get to the balcony, and the separate dining room. From here you can get into the tasteful living room with a fireplace that is not only a gem for art lovers with antique furniture and its sophisticated furnishing. Furthermore, you will find here the second bedroom, a single room and a bathroom. A staircase leads to the attic room with air conditioning under the roof.

Directly next to the longest beach on the island which is named the 'pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea', is the impressive resort Marina di Campo. The character of the old fishing village with its picturesque, colorful houses and alleys in the city center behind the small harbour has hardly changed. Along the light, fine beaches, that invite you to sunbath, relax and play, you will find a promenade that serves as a popular meeting point during all evenings. Restaurants, bars, shops, sport offers and services can be reached in a few minutes on foot from the apartment. A beautiful pine forest surrounds the city in the south of Elba, which nestles into the deeply cut bay Golfo di Campo. Secluded and peaceful and not reachable via car is the beach Galenzana, which is only a few minutes walk from Marina di Campo, embedded in a small bay with light sand and pebbles.

Additional information: 20% deposit upon reservation, rest 10 days before arrival. The security deposit of € 500 will be paid on site upon arrival and paid back on departure. For night departure within 7 days. Two bicycles are available for the guests. Utilities for heat are € 50 per week during the winter (Oct. to the middle of March) Per week during the spring € 30 (middle of March to middle of June) Service provision of bedsheets and towels: per person per week € 40 (with weekly change)

The terraces on the roof are 2.40m x 1.50m and 2.40m and 2.50m x 1.40m.

A wonderful experience

We were a party of 6 triathletes staying on Elba for the annual Ironman Competition in September 2009.
The property is almost beyond description. It was ideal for our needs providing rooms where we could all sit, eat, drink and listen to music. Equally there were so many private spaces that we could enjoy personal time without interruption.
The furnishings of the property are an amazing collection of personal furnishings, pictures and objects clearly gathered over many years.
The garden was a haven of tranquility with opportunities to sit and read and eat.
The house is situated in the centre of the village, and although only 10 metres from the nearest restaurant and perhaps another 10 or more restaurants within 200 metres, was quiet and private. The excellent sandy beach could be seen from the three balconies and you could be sat on the sand and swimming in the warm water within a 5 minute walk or 2 minute run!

Altogether an memorable experience made all the better for the excellent communications before the holiday and on our arrival. I have no doubt we shall return to the house and to compete in the Ironman.

A Taste of the Unusual

The Casa Bouganville is tucked away on the side street of the beautiful little town Marina di Campo. The location is ideal - centrally located and minutes to the beach, yet still peaceful and quiet. It is an eclectic house filled to overflowing with historical and artistic treasures. Definitely not a house for children with sticky fingers, but with our older children we enjoyed a house full of character and style. The highlight is the courtyard surrounded by high walls and greenery, except the mosquitos found it also appealing. The trip from the upstairs kitchen to the courtyard is awkward so be sure to ask for use of the downstairs kitchen... yes there are two, and three bathrooms which is ideal for our large family. A very enjoyable and special holiday was passed here.
