Pienza Vacation Rental villa

Le Maribelle 3 is located in Montichiello, a small village between Pienza and Montepulciano, in one of the most beautiful parts of the Crete Senese region. There is a small alimentari within a 5-10 minute walk, and supermarkets in Pienza and Montepulciano, about 20 minutes away by car. There are a few restaurants in town, including Osteria La Porta, which has good food, friendly service, and an outside terrace with an excellent view, and La Taverna di Moranda, which is a superb but reasonably priced restaurant with some of the best food I've eaten in Italy.

Le Maribelle 3 consists of two separate apartments, which may be rented individually or as a unit. (Those with small children should note that the two units are not internally connected.) The apartments are in a medieval stone building, but have been renovated in a modern style. The lower apartment consists of a single room with two beds and a curtained-off shower/toilet area, and the upper apartments has a lower floor with well equipped kitchen, dining room, and a separate toilet/bathroom, and an upper floor with a single large bedroom. We did not use the lower apartment, but found the upper one to be very comfortable and spacious, adequate for two adults and two young children. The truly outstanding aspect of the upper apartment is a small private garden at the rear. It includes a garden table and chairs under a tree, and is a very pleasant place to enjoy breakfast or dinner.

I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, and would certainly stay here again.

My adult daughter and I spent a week in Toscany last September. We were referred to Maribella by another family member who travels to Italy annually. The apartment was the perfect set up for the two of us. I stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors which consisted of a kitchen/dining area, bath and a huge upstairs bedroom, and leaving my daughter with her own space (bedroom and bath) on the ground floor. The apartment was very appropriately decorated in what appeared to be Italian antiques. The beds were extremely comfortable. We even had a small backyard where we could sit and drink our morning expresso. Barbara, the owner, is delightful and made sure we were comfortable during our stay.
The town of Montechello is very small, and by the second day, everyone in the villiage knew who we were. The villiagers were very friendly, particularly in the community center which is staffed daily and provides information, pamphlets and maps of the region. The Center also provides free internet access. While the villiage of Montechello is very small (you will see every point of interest within about 30 minutes) it is very centrally located and with in very short reach of the larger, more well known Toscany hill towns, such as Pienza and Montepulciano (bring study shoes - lots of cobblestones). A slightly longer drive will take you to Siena or Perugia (where you can tour the famous chocolate factory) or to Assisi (actually in Umbria) to visit the home of St Francis.

This property was recommended to me and not only would I recommend it to friends, I have every intention of returning myself.
